Maybe not good news - I think the conclusion reached in the other thread was that it's actually a subsidiary of THQ that seems to be pretty deadset on DRM :( And THQ is "nice" enough to let them run themselves as they see (un)fit.

I'd be super bummed - Kingdom Come was one of those huge games that I was drooling over and I lost my mind when I saw the PreOrder page pop up here one day. Pretty sure I immediately bought it (or at least bought it Day One of release) as a show of support for the Dev bringing it here. I mean, I knew I was going to get it anyway but the prompt release was all I needed to get me to pony up full price as a thank you.

I *think* that one is still a bit further out. I know the one I can't wait for is Fade to Silence and that's still not out yet (though I think it's pretty close).

I can't imagine they'd release Biomutant in too close proximity to FtS - my guess is Holiday at the earliest - and that's assuming it doesn't slip to next year. It does look pretty sweet though. Metroidvania Rocket Racoon in a gorgeous world - yes please!
Can't say I'm thrilled - any "acquisition" of original IP suggests lack of intent to evolve it further. Becoming the property of another entity does not exactly give you the same degree of control over content (or implementation) as being independent.

In Warhorse's case, the studio seemed rather well placed to continue being independent with reliance on outside investors, if necessary. The fact that it was sold does appear to bode well in my view, but I would not mind being mistaken.

Their game was a much-needed breath of fresh air.
