As I posted in the other thread it is interesting, though I find it strange GOG would bail out on movies already, obvousily this was going to be a slow process. Could it be possible the dev simply misunderstood or perhaps meant there movie was rejected on the platform as we know GOG likes to do with games?
I would like to see an official comment on this from GOG either way...

Wow. That's really, really sad. Though it's possible that they've spread themselves too thinly between Galaxy and the publishers/games they're pursuing. Still, it saddens me that they indeed have seemingly given up on movies.
I wish we could have someone at least explain what's been going on, and why.

I think if they had made some kind of attempt at trying to bring public domain classics - movies that interest movie buffs - things might have gone a little better. Right now it feels like a Doritos and Mt. Dew section, not a buffet of variety. (putting aside what we know about regional restrictions on film releases)

The good news though, is that if Hollywood has content that they're comfortable distributing DRM-free that some other storefront out there that does not have any pre-existing anti-regional precedent or userbase could spring up and start selling DRM-free movies regionally to people who are more than happy with that. I imagine it will happen sooner or later, but probably later.
