gamefood: It must be one of these:

- Hardware Store Tycoon
- Sid Meier's Shovelization
- Need For Spade
That reminds me of the Hardware Store Song!

Could it be... The Dig ^_^
Well sometime in the next 122 hours we should know what the game is. Otherwise a shovel, beats me.

Although it could always be a Mafia game
I wondered whether Boon Hill might come to GOG, but I doubt it's quite that close to release.

A "Day" you say? What could I guess at with this information? What could I possibly conclude... ...

ie Night Dive have at least registered a trademark against NOLF. That would be a pretty much inevitable step towards release if they had secured the rights, but it isn't necessarily so, they may be fishing for someone to challenge it. The rights hell was just two companies both of whom denied they owned it, resolvable, if you could make it worth the companies' while to actually check.

I don't personally think a NOLF rerelease is imminent, but it is possible.

After this hint with day/hour my vote also goes for NOLF. Not my cup of tea but I think lots of people will be happy and that is good.

JudasIscariot: Nobody knows the day or the hour of our next release, not even us :P
I thought about this a bit and it occurred to me that if we speak in terms of days and hours when referring to time, then we're obviously referring to terrestrial time here on Earth, which only makes sense if we're referring to time relative to our experience here on Earth.

But... in space, that isn't necessarily the case. Oh sure, on the ISS or the space shuttle or whatever they'll use Earth bound time also, but that is all small fry stuff. The deeper one goes into space the less Earth bound time measurement methodologies retain relevance, and that's much more likely and true if there is no direct communication with Earth happening, or from say... an independent space ship or star ship travelling self sufficiently throughout space with itself acting as it's own reference point in space.

How then would one communicate a relative point in Earth bound time to people on Earth from a distant point in space with no connection to Earth based time mechanics or to which there are no synchronization mechanisms available (presumably because of distance, latency, obscuration, gravitational warping, etc.?

I think I'm on to you! That has to be a clue that the Star Wars games are coming to GOG sometime soon but you honestly don't know the day or hour of release due to the disconnection with Earth bound time from the point of relativity of your star ship! Just be sure to keep the shields up and the power generators running strong, it's dangerous out there!

How do you go from Shovel + Day to NOLF?

JMich: How do you go from Shovel + Day to NOLF?
Ah, that's easy... Sergeant Magnus Armstrong allegedly incapacitated a bridge with nothing but a shovel and a hand grenade.

Where does the Day clue fit in? Or was it during the night?

There is a proverb/saying in polish that "Nie znasz dnia ani godziny..." You can translate it into "One cannot know day or hour (implicitly: your death).
When Judas wrote: Nobody knows the day or the hour ...and shovel..=NOLF

Well, parts of the game are played during daytime so it would fit too, on top of the shovel reference.
