There used to be an answer for this in the old Witcher 3 GOG page.

Anyways... Digging in the internet I found the info, enjoy:

"Will I be able to redeem a backup copy of The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt on GOG.com?"

"The backup program for The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt is not planned any time soon, for sure not around release time. It was a one time action for The Witcher and The Witcher 2: Assassins of Kings. It might happen sometime in the future, but, currently, it's not in our plans."

Hehe... A month or 2 ago I have discovered that my wife never saw Gremlins, so I downloaded them and made her watch it...First thing about the movies is that they are still awesome! Second... "Gizmo KAKA" - Wifes fav new shout :D

Personally I hope they wait a good long while before allowing people who chose to buy the game from steam get a free GOG version of the game... I don't have the money, so I will not be getting W3 anytime soon, but if they give it to the steam buyers anytime soon, it will be a slap in the face of everyone who bought it here in the first place.

I don't think CDProject will ever allow to redeem a Steam key here.
Back when they did it with TW1 and 2 GOG was still an almost unknown little digital distribution site, so they thought to offer that bonus to increase their fame.
This time the store is much more renowed, so I doubt making this kind of offer again would be a clever idea, business wise.

lol...My favourite part is from Gremlins 2 when the smart one shoots the kid for screwing up in mid interview for television.
All while saying their kind is against unnecessary violence hahaha.
