The devs actually contacted me about this. The problem really is just the missing file which should not be a problem at all but since GOG gives back an exception if it is missing the game stops because of it receiving an error message and Near-Mage trying to handle error messages in a proper way. I am not quite sure why this did not happen in an earlier build but it might just be that their error handling was less extreme here ... in any case. They decided to implement the missing file back in and were asking GOG (since it is a GOG file) to approve it. I thought they had already fixed it. Will contact Chris and ask what the actual state of affairs is.

Edit: Dev replied and will post in your thread since he also really wants to fix this.

New difficulty modes:

Story Mode - for those wanting to follow along the story without having to worry too much about dying again and again... and again.

Blood, Sweat and Tears - for those wanting an extra challenge.

Custom Mode - where you can adjust the experience and include modifiers like no more ammunition at traders, turn off curse lifting, blessings and more!

One new achievement related to Blood, Sweat and Tears.

A special “victory” item awaits those who battle through Blood, Sweat and Tears to forever remind them of their difficult deed.

New Game+ is here as well, with its own modifiers!
Dare to combine it with one of the new difficulty modes?

New quests:

Jim is suspicious of the new basement in the saloon, but he also has another big job on his mind.

The shaman may require assistance once more in another attempt to right the wrongs.

A brand new NPC may offer two wild, new quests that will take player across whole map

These modes and quests will most certainly need balancing...
so we're gonna need feedback from y'all!

Traits screen is now back to how it looked prior to 4.3.0

Fixed a rare issue in which certain saves from Chapter 1 could never load properly

Fixed the Occult Mask to now apply a full Curse properly on player death

Fixed an issue with Priest’s coughing in Chapter 2 that could be heard in the Fort area even after rescuing him

Fixed kills with dynamite not counting towards Crimson Brooch’s value

Fixed Strix dealing more damage in melee than intended

Fixed arrows appearing at the center of the screen for a split second on high framerates

Fixed “Loremaster of the Barren Lands” achievement being granted before gathering the last note

Fixed bug that was preventing keybindings for staying for some users

Improvements:

Optimization for vast amounts of dead enemies across whole map - this should increase performance and stability of the game in cases where player killed a lot of enemies

Game should be able to recognize corrupted saves a bit better and inform about them

Debuff from using a Cigar has been improved/nerfed

Totem of Souls voice has been slightly improved

Text-scaling can be changed in the Settings menu

Small text improvements

Small improvements and fixes to keybinds (especially AZERTY layout) and controllers

Dear Ghoul Hunters,

It's been a while! Today I'm bringing to you a small update for Tunguska: The Visitation, along with a dev progress update for Tunguska 2: Whitefall!

First thing first: the small update 1.94-1 consists of 3 new option settings: Left Trigger Deadzone, Right Trigger Deadzone 1, and Right Trigger Deadzone 2. This is to accommodate rare occasions when a controller's triggers are wearing out and can't reach 100% depressed. Especially for the right trigger - when you shoot an automatic weapon, there's a 2-stage trigger action with two deadzone settings. If it's depressed between the two thresholds, the gun doesn't fire but also won't release the current locked target. This is to prevent moving from one target to another unintentionally in-between bursts.
