Hi Talisman fans!

Today we've rolled out the latest patch for Talisman: Digital Edition. A good number of these fixes came about because you reported them either on our Discord or on the Steam/Gog forums. So from everyone working on Talisman here at Nomad Games, thanks for your help and support!

Check out the official patch notes below, and don't forget to download the update if you want to play with your friends - you all need to be on the same version to play together (including cross-platform play!)

General Fixes:
• We’ve made it so that you can’t use the ‘No More Lives’ house rule while The Dancing Skulls ending is active. This is because during this ending, You can only resurrect if you have at least 1 life point which you can gain from defeating enemies (or trading in trophies depending on rule choice) or other card encounters. If you have the No More Lives rule switched on, you've basically made it incredibly difficult to get resurrected, to the point you're limited to 2 cards from the realm region's deck. So it could also become impossible to do so. So in order to avoid people getting stuck in this situation, we’ve made this change.
• Certain Legendary versions of cards weren’t causing challenges to trigger as they should, so we’ve gone ahead and fixed those cards. The Legendary Deck versions of Self Portrait, Wraith and Giant will now add to challenges when encountered.
• The Devil's Minion was previously unable to use weapon inventions during psychic combat despite the fact they can use regular weapons that are meant for psychic combat. We’ve fixed this, so now all you Devil’s Minion players can use invented weapons to your evil hearts content.
• We discovered and fixed an issue with the Witch Doctor's Evil Eye ability. If you land on a character in the centre space for the first time and there is someone already there, it's ok to use his ability. However, the game was allowing you to keep using his ability on the following turns despite not moving to land on the other character. We’ve fixed this now, so he can only use his ability when he lands on someone.
• A minor fix, but sometimes the Werewolf card wouldn’t appear properly when you encountered it - it should now be visible.
• We fixed an issue where the use of the Horn of Dread could lead to locking the game if the owner dies and then the new owner who uses it straight away loses a life.
• We fixed a bug with the Enlightened destiny card, where it would not give the player a chance to trade in 1 light fate to gain a spell. Even if the player had room for a spell in their inventory and there are no anti-spell/magic effects in play, the game still wouldn’t let them use it. This has now been fixed, and the Destiny should function properly.
• When the Ifrit Invasion card from the Fireland expansion was drawn while the Cataclysm version of the board was in use, the card wouldn’t let you roll for its effect. We’ve fixed this issue, so now the card should function as expected even when using the Cataclysm board.
• We’ve added some more localisation fixed based on feedback from the community - thanks to everyone who pointed out text that needed updating!

Crash Fixes:
We’ve rolled out a ton of crash bug fixes in this patch, including fixes for:
• An occasional crash downloading Avatar and Challenge textures
• An occasional crash when selecting cards in a network game
• An occasional crash in CURL on Android
• A very infrequent crash when saving the game
• And more!

Nomad Account Updates:
We’ve now added a ‘delete account’ button to the game, so that you can delete your Nomad Account directly through Talisman: Digital Edition. Be careful with this feature however, as you won’t be able to get your account back!

We’ve also updated the email that we send when you sign up for a Nomad Account to enable email account verification. Previously you could enter any old email address and have a valid email address without needing to confirm that email was actually you. So now we’ve added a ‘confirm email address’ button to your email, so we can just confirm you are who you claim to be.

AI War 2 has just received an update taking it from 5.512 to 5.513 for Windows, Mac and Linux.

* Number of Deep Space Outposts at maximum is now a faction setting (0-5, use 0 to disable). DS Outpost spawning no longer always spawns up to the max (3 is default) even if it causes overlaps. Instead if no good candidate exists it will despawn an outpost instead of creating one so the number of outposts can fluctuate up and down in interesting ways.
* Near Space Outposts now mark up on their own without needing constructor there. NS Outposts no longer show % progress to mark up above 100% when at maximum mark level.
* For each three NS Outposts one additional constructor will be produced.
* Research ship now halts movement (clears orders) when being hacked.
* Research ship less likely to get trapped, it is valid for it to move onto planets with remaining science now, it just prefers others.
* Its too easy to end up ordering batteries to move to a different planet when they are drag selectable in galaxy view, so not showing in galaxy view.

New Features
Nimpossible Mode: When playing in Nimpossible Mode, manual saving is not possible. The game will auto-save your progress, and you can play and reload from that single dedicated auto-save slot only. Nimp Heads you find during your Journeys will allow you to resurrect, but once you are out of Nimp Heads, death is permanent, your playthrough is over, and the auto-save file is deleted.
A new alternative aiming system, different from the classic twin-stick shooter model, where the camera controls are preserved while aiming. This new system can be turned ON/OFF at any point (including in an existing playthrough) in the gameplay options.
New Contents
To go along with the new Nimpossible mode, some side content (available only in Nimpossible) has been added to the game to support the lore around the resurrection process and the deal struck with the Wanderers. This includes two new travel encounters and a side quest that will unlock through your Nimpossible playthrough.
QoL Improvements
A tracker of human kill count is added in the Reputation TAB, so those of you who are attempting a non-lethal playthrough can easily keep tabs on how this is going at any point during gameplay. (We also fixed the fact that killing Ravenous wrongly counted toward that number.)
Related to non-lethal playthroughs, we have also tuned blunt weapons so that attacking too quickly won't result in you inadvertently killing your target.
Upon players' request and for increased accessibility, we have also added an additional higher level of slo-mo to the "SloMo While Aiming" option that was added with the previous patch

Cryotube now allows the player to save unlocked planets, as well as restart a session: You can buy any (affordable) planet and freely visit them after death, reset or restart. Unlocked and saved planets will no longer provide any quests or require traveling fees as well as imposed prestige requirements.
Second Chances amount is set to unlimited, so the player would be able to buy as many as desired, a new counter indicates the current number.

Carried by the winds, the agile explorers of Hraesvelg do not need to occupy a large territory, for they will readily venture outside to gather resources.

Their profound knowledge of the terrain and their ability to exploit it to its fullest allow them to survive in the most desolate areas.

They are led by Grif, the only survivor of an extinct clan.

The Warchief - GRIF

Orphaned upon the fall of their parent’s clan, Grif was adopted at a young age by the followers of Hraesvelg.

This demonstration of adaptability made them a perfect leader for the Eagle clan.

Start-with:

- The Aviaries replace the Scout Camps. They train Falconers and reveal Buried Caches on the map over time.
- Falconers gain Lore when exploring uncharted lands. They can explore Ruins, Shipwrecks, and close Wolf Dens and Draugr Tombs even outside their territory.
- You start with 1 Hawk. They turn a cleared zone into a Boneyard, providing natural resources from the zone and healing your units.
- Resources are dropped in a Loot Pouch on the zone. It can be claimed by the Eagle clan, or left for an ally clan to collect.
- Aviaries require no building slot and increase the maximum number of Hawks you can send on a Boneyard.
- The clan gains no Fame for colonizing new zones.

- Fame 200 | Nomadic Tribe
* Clan units outside of the territory consume -30% Food and Firewood.
* Zones can be upgraded using Food.
* Houses and Military Camps in upgraded zones house +1 Pop and +1 Warband.

- Fame 500 | Scavenging
* Wolf Dens, Draugr Tombs, Ruins, and Shipwrecks can be explored a second time. Providing additional resources except Fame.

Techs:

- Sentinel

* Replace: Colonization
* Effect: Falconers can be assigned as Sentinel to a zone to increase its production, and the
attack power of units in the zone.

- Blood Eagle

* Replace: Defensive Strategy
* Effect: When a unit is attacked in a zone containing Hawks, they blind the enemy unit for 3 seconds.

- Training Field

* Replace: Feeling Safe
* Effect: For each zone without foes bordering the clan territory, the clan gains +1 Happiness.

- Rapine

* Replace: Legendary Heroes
* Effect: Decolonizing an enemy territory turns the zone into a Boneyard. Hawks collect resources from production buildings in addition to natural resources.

- Foraging

* Replace: Mining Efficiency
* Effect: Resources gained from colonizing special zones, closing Wolf Dens and Draugr Tombs are increased by 60%.

Relic - Vídópnir’s Feather

- Relic reveals a Forbidden Cache containing rare resources guarded by mythical creatures.
- For each opened Buried Cache military units gain +2% Attack Power permanently (max: +10%).
- Every time a Forbidden Cache is opened, all current military units gain +10% Attack Power until they die (max of combined bonuses: 30%).

Note

The clan is available in all game modes, and will be available in Ranked multiplayer in two weeks. A special channel is open on the Northgard server for you to provide feedback on the clan balancing so we can get the balance as close to perfect as possible for when the clan becomes available in ranked.

The clan of the Snake - Rework -

Start-with

- The clan can use Swidden Field on its zones to temporarily increase production at the cost of a reduced production afterward.
- The clan can copy knowledge of any clan they encounter.

Units

- Skirmishers
* Skirmishers can be used to attack enemy territories but they do not decolonize zones on their own.

- Signy
* Age 16: Raised by Wolves
* Signy gains Cloaked ability.
* When units are Cloaked among wild creatures, they neutralize their aggressivity toward the clan, and increase their aggressivity toward enemy clans.
* When an assault is launched by the creatures, they reveal the zone they attack.

* Age 17: Shadow of the Wild
* All military units gain Cloaked ability.

Techs:

-Black Market

* Merchants produce 20% more Kröwns.
* The clan can trade even with Factions and Clans at war against them.
* When Cloaked on a neutral faction zone, units degrade the relationship between the faction and enemy clans.

- Rapacious Exploitation

* Each zone affected by Swidden Field provides +1 Happiness to the clan (max: +3).

- Under Pressure

* Skirmishers can attack enemy production buildings to steal the resources they contain.

- Guerilla Tactics

* Each unit slayed or lost in enemy territory permanently increases all military units Attack Power by +1% (Max: 20%).
* This bonus is doubled during the first 5 seconds of combat.

General Changes

Abilities

- Shield Wall (Shield Bearer forge upgrade)

* Unit defense is increased by 40% when receiving the first attack in combat (rather than when the combat engages in the zone).

- Cloaked

* Units cloaked among wild creatures consume 50% less Food.

Buildings

- Marketplace

* It is now possible to buy the smallest amount of each resource at the Marketplace.


- Mines

* Ore extraction now functions with a gauge system. Miners increase the gauge, when full, 1 Ore is extracted at once from deposit and added to the clan resources (This is to avoid the problem of 0,5 ore being extracted from deposits, and deposits giving 14 ores total instead of 15 for example).

Neutral Factions

- Dwarves

* Dwarves when in good relations with a clan now just give one type of Ores (Stone or Iron) - randomly selected at the start of each game - The ores they sent players are extracted from the deposits on their territory. Eliminating the faction will allow a clan to colonize the zone to exploit the remaining resources.

Other

- Scouting

* There is now a maximum scouting time for a zone. On big and huge maps, time required to scout the farthest zones are thus decreased.

- Performances

* Optimized various game systems to improve multiplayer performances.

- Creative Mod

* Player names can be customized in the map editor
* Units stats are now displayed without a factor in the Northgard Editor.

- UI

* Improved the font system for 4k monitors, so all the texts are displayed nicely (it’s crisp!).
* In the multiplayer lobby, the players’ ELO are displayed correctly.
* War notifications are now clickable, and it moves the camera to where the fight happens.

- Controls

* Add a special keybind (ctrl-e) to select all military units that can go outside the player territory.

Hello, crusaders!

We’ve prepared a hot-fix 1.4.3l (1.4.4d for macOS) with some very important changes:
Firstly, we’ve fixed the issue with Chinese font. We apologize to our Chinese players for the inconvenience, and we are working on a plan to prevent such issues from happening in the future;

Secondly, we’ve listened to your feedback regarding the Treasure of the Midnight Isles DLC, and you’ve provided some very convincing arguments why the Last Azlanti mode should be optional. So, if you start a new game in the rogue-like mode, you can opt out of Last Azlanti, and have multiple saves. However, please keep in mind that to get a tailwind for the next party, you still need to let your current party perish. More changes for the DLC are planned in the next updates.

We’ve also fixed a snowy island in the rogue-like mode that could cause the game to crash, so if you encountered this issue, you can continue playing now.
