surfer1260: Imagine Earth

Standalone installer updated: [Windows] 1.11.5.5800-gog ⇒ 1.12.0.5860-gog .

NOTE
The original caption for this update on Steam is "1.12 Linux Support and Planet B Mission".
The Linux version of Imagine Earth was released on June 4, 2023. Since I have no clue
when – or if at all – a Linux build will come to Gog, I have cut out all Linux related messages
from the changelog.

1.12 Planet B Mission

Welcome to our latest update. We serve you some more crisp features with update 1.12, but read for yourself. Summer greetings, Jens & Martin

➊ New Challenge - Saving Planet B
We have a special challenge for you this week, a new planet to basically explore the idea for a new game mode in Imagine Earth. Would be happy if you feel like thinking with us about how we can make this more interesting.

The basic idea is that the players don't have to build up a civilization first, but find a relatively heavily built-up planet with cities. So you become directly the rebuilder and improver of the world, which is an exciting challengel. The emissions balance is also already tipping into the negative, so climate change is imminent. So you have to consider with all expansion steps to compensate the additional emissions of the new buildings and additional supply buildings with reforestation and other methods.
In return, you'll find plenty of infrastructure and technology on the planet that you can take over and optimize through strategic realignment.
As I said, we're testing this out and seeing that we need to balance planets in this game mode to make it fun and challenging.

➋ New construction ring
An amazingly simple, yet effective change. The build ring just got bigger and now includes all the available build options plus the tools, functions and inventory. We studied other simulation games and their gamepad controls to come to this conclusion. As a result, the building ring is now also much more distinct from the building options and the individual building categories.

➌ Hitech building in technology panel
This move was only logical since we put the Hitech special buildings for terraforming and geoengineering into one category in the build menu, making them so much more available, look in the technology panel for better what a wide variety of build options, Imagine Earth offers.

➍ The Takeover Panel
We have also redesigned this to make the acquisition of competing cities clearer. With the necessary majority of shares in a corporation, you can directly take over individual cities and bring them under your control.

➎ Population free areas on the planet
When we built the above planet B, we wanted to enable the scenario of finding more cities or soon maybe slums on the planet that could be taken over and transformed in an efficiency and environmentally friendly way. To do this, we first had to create the condition that even in areas not controlled by factions, people live in the cities and are supplied by farms and power plants in the surrounding area.

➏ Gamepad - Major changes
---• We have once again intensively rethought and optimized the gamepad controls for Imagine Earth. It should be almost more dynamic to control than with the mouse, give it a try.
---• [Digitalpad controls the main UI elements: Tree menu, resources, building list, trader menu.
---• [Left shoulder: research, tech, stocks
---• [Right shoulder: city navigation
---• Select & Start: Navigation, game menu, journal, statistics
---• Therefore no more additional menüring
---• Significantly more overlays directly in the UI

➐ More optimizations and fixes
---• Dialogs no longer overlay pause screens and other panels that pause the game.
---• Improved Storytelling - First entry in planetary journal reports that no story has yet taken place on untouched planets.
---• Bora Mission - Added direct rebuild target for city centers.
---• Unintended city placement basically disabled.
---• Jump to cities - buildings no longer appear with delay
---• Midras merchant, permanent icon is out of the game

Solasta: Crown of the Magister

Updated to 1.5.52_Final

Changelog from SteamDB:

Palace of Ice - Hotfix 1.5.52

You get a hotfix! You get a hotfix! EVERYBODY gets a hotfix!

• Fixed the legendary Jakarbuckler shield missing its model. Although an invisible shield could have been a cool idea, that wasn't the plan.
• Fixed the party getting stuck if they re-entered the Glendale Castle after having finished The Wyvern's Nest quest. The castle isn't intended to be some twisted run-ending trap.
• Fixed another issue in Glendale Castle where a party member could spawn inside the Castle after a cutscene and remain stuck in there.
• Fixed the Experiment Room in Telema missing fly tunnels, preventing flying creatures from crossing the rift. The DM's argument was "Uuuhhh yea dangerous magic currents or something", but considering it was a stupid excuse we decided to override it.
• Fixed Custom Campaigns menu not properly showing its content on Microsoft & Xbox versions.
• Fixed some Russian & Chinese texts not properly appearing in the UI.
• Fixed an issue where Soraks could be neutral or completely missing from the mines in Kaupaapunki, blocking the main quest. We assume they saw what you did to their brethren and simply gave up. We reminded them that it ain't much, but it's honest work - they're now back and ready to fight.
• Fixed Divine Blade missing from the Cleric spell list, Gravity Slam missing from the Druid spell list, Thunderstorm missing from the Druid & Wizard spell list, Spellward and Sunburst missing from the Wizard spell list.
• Fixed an issue where the "Attrition" quest flow could be broken by triggering the convoy fight before getting close to it.
• Fixed the Barbarian's rage ending early even if they took damage the previous turn. Rage on little guy!
• Fixed Globe of Invulnerability sometimes causing an internal error.
• Fixed a rare issue where Vigdis and Missouk could be missing from their own cutscene, making the discussion pretty awkward to say the least.
• Fixed being able to teleport to the Ruins of Telema before teleporting to Violet's House, bricking the main quest. Little Violet does not appreciate being ignored.
• Fixed entering the Temple of Arrivad with a level 13+ party not spawning any enemy, blocking the main quest.

Known Issues

• Do not abort the travel back to White City after completing the Gallivan Border Castle as this will block the main quest.
• During the "Going on an Adventure" quest with Isrid Farsky, choosing the option "it's too dangerous" plays the incorrect cutscene.
• During the quest "The Eastern Front", using stealth / invisibility can bypass the trigger for the 1st fight, breaking the main quest flow when activating the beacon later.

• Fixed a number of issues that could cause the Target Sweep to claim there was no mission target, or that the target was too distant, when this was not the cause.

• Fixed a minor graphical issue that could cause laser impact effects to be the wrong colour.
• Fixed an issue that could cause a red effect to appear in one eye only during the boot screen when using PSVR on PlayStation 4.

• Introduced a number of improvements to quick menu usage in VR, making it easier & more precise to use.
• Fixed a VR issue that could cause players to be treating as pointing at the quick menu, when in reality their hand was in front of the menu.
• Fixed an issue that stopped players from moving in VR if they pointed at their wrist with the point to move setting enabled.
• Fixed an issue that could cause the “Out of Bounds” VR message to remain on-screen if players reset their view while the main menu was open.

• Fixed an inconsistency in the use of upper/lower case in the friend request popup.
• Fixed an issue that caused the weapon charge/ammo percentage in the HUD to drop the % symbol.
• Fixed a rare issue that could cause some customisation options to be unavailable in the Appearance Modifier UI.
• Fixed a number of issues that could cause items within the crafting tree to be highlighted when they were not available for crafting.

The patch from 4.23 (the previous one) to 4.30 (current one) is immense (12.6 GB). Pretty much the size of the setup files for the 4.30 itself (12.7GB). I wonder if something got mixed up there.

I noticed. It seemed to me if the entire installation was so altered that you need to download a patch that big you might as well had downloaded the extra 200mb and reinstalled the new version fresh. It's possibly a goof, or maybe they repackaged all the assets? Who knows.
