Gydion: Did the Windows installer get a silent update?
avatar
JudasIscariot: It was probably from the time when we were removing the billboards for the Fallout games if the timestamp is from January of this year.

@DyNaer:

I really don't know what kind of a list you are looking for. Do you want us to list all of the minuscule silent updates that are really something so trivial that people don't need to know about them? It's not because we are keeping secrets but because we figure no one is going to care that an installer got a billboard change or some slight configuration change that has no effect on the game and how it plays has been added or removed.

Believe me, if we update a game we notify everyone if it as a fix either to the game or a fix on our side to the installer because some script got messed up as per the latest Mac version of the Avernum Saga.

Let me know if I can be of further help :)
The billboarfs got changed for some games (plenty) , the hashes of the files are different : if i use the downloader to see if there a change in the billboards for a game; it causes issues with the downloader (either it could freeze / or it could add chunks to the previous installer ; which is not very good).

i just requested a list about which games have their billboards changed, to avoid a problem with the downloader when i use it to check files

because *.bin files doesn't have a tilmestamp , only the *.exe..... since there no hash avaible i don't have other alternative.

i gave up about this request (2 months without any answer to my PM : You & Thiev , not even a yes or no it's not possible), i made my PM crystal clear, i believe.....or not ? ....>.>

Plenty of softwares sites provifes a hash for their files (ie : LibreOffice).

it''s way easier to use a md5 than to use the downloader.... and since there's no md5 providied it's US (some users) which ttry to make a master list with them....

Fever_Discordia: You know you can add threads to a favorites list, right?
Yes, while I searched for the thread today I thought "Damned, you should really add it to your favourite-threads list". Don't know why I never did it in the past.

JudasIscariot: I was trying to flag it for those for whom it would be relevant i.e. French speakers, but the system wants to flag all of the languages.

Yes, all the languages are in one installer for that game but I figured only those who use the French language dropdown menu would see it...
Ah, I see. Well, I'm 77% of the way through downloading the latest installer so I'll let it finish. Only about 10 minutes left to finish.

JudasIscariot: There done, enjoy :)

edit: although you know that you have condemned this thread to non-existence right now as most people don't read stickies in a forum :P
I very much appreciate that this thread made it to Sticky status, saves me a slot in my favourite threads.

And there's no real danger for the thread falling into obscurity - at least not until the way updates are being handled is changed. ;-P

Yes I wondered today if I should redownload Crusader HD but thanks to JudasIscariot I don't need to. Should also save GOG some bandwith.

sigh.
DOS version of Capitalism Plus does not support CD Audio. Windows version does. If at some point we we'll be able (technically / legally) to add it to our existing build, we will. I even have my original CD here somewhere ;)

Good thing you stickied this thread, now no one will know it even exists...
Silent update to Don't Starve: New installer which incorporates the patches since the last major update. If you use the update tool, you don't need to download the new installer.
