So, I guess we'll all have to get used to [2] now...
Don't get your hopes up being able to finish Omerta just yet: I played around a bit and unless I've completely forgotten how to play the game, the Georgia Ave mission is still broken just like it was before. Was that with a new game, or from a saved game before the patching? It's possible the patch addresses games going forward, but that it doesn't clean up old saves.

I opened the World Map, launched Georgia Ave from there. Judas has asked me to backup my saves, uninstall, re-install, and try again. I'm gonna do that now.

EDIT: I re-installed everything: in short, it looks to me like the patch is only helpful to those who are new to the game. It doesn't break old saves, but they don't actually work either. Thanks, I suspected as much. Sometimes what's broken in the code leads to certain artifacts in the save data, and those can be a real pain to patch out. In cases like this it's more common that you have to run a new game to avoid the errors. Unfortunate, that, but still preferable to never having it fixed at all. Doesn't make the lost playing time any easier to deal with though.

Shouldn't those FLAC soundtracks be after the ***TO*** rather than before it?

EDIT: Oh, wait, just had a look and then read the link you referred to. So, they removed the FLAC soundtracks as they were only MP3 quality anyway. Hmm.

Ugh, they transcoded some MP3 soundtracks into FLAC..... I warned them a while ago to not doing so... Obviously they didn't realized what they were doing....sigh....but at teast they removed those...it was just a waste of disk space.....

Downloaded the Omerta update minutes after it showed up, 2 hours later my account still shows 1 update available and it's still Omerta. Did an account refresh twice since then, Omerta update is perpetually locked onto my account with an iron fist and wont let go. Please tell it to stop doing that and release another Dragonsphere update instead. :)

Did the database field that stores how long it has been since the last time a game was updated get mixed up in the code somehow to represent how long an update should show up as being new? Just curious. ;)

Spoken as in those old "Calgon" TV commercials... "Galaxy!... Take me away!" :)

Seriously, I would pay $10 right now to have even buggy beta access to Galaxy client game updates and provide a steady stream of quality bug report feedback (privately or publicly). :) I really mean that. I'd be willing to re-download my entire collection of 300 games and provide bug reports for the whole process just to help things out, and with a coke and a smile. Especially would look forward to testing downloads/updates of Dragonsphere with the Galaxy client.

Keep it in mind, ongoing standing offer anytime, just PM me to hook me up for a beta test. :)

Ok, going back to playing Dragonsphere now...

Yeah, I don't even care about having to replay everything -- we finally got 1.07! =D I bought The Japanese Incentive during the summer sale, so now I can play everything in one sweep.

I wonder why they suddenly decided to release this patch to GOG, though. Will there still be a patch 1.08 or have they stopped supporting the game and that's why we got this patch in the end? Regardless, not looking a gift horse in the mouth. =P

That'll be a while now I think. Omerta City of Gangsters is giving me a perpetual update "offer that I can't refuse" so to speak as the Mafia say. ;)

The web update notification system might as well be disabled I think as it notifies you when there aren't updates available, notifies you after you already got updates, and sometimes doesn't notify you when there are updates. Galaxy is going to be here before long anyway, might as well just disable the current broken bits and wait for the new system to take over, or perhaps put an option in settings to opt-out of notifications, but provide an exception for Dragonsphere. :)
