Engerek01: However, I was unable to solve Victor Vran's puzzle. Any ideas? I can not tie zero-nine to zero-Z

Ugh, base 36 made me realize my mistake. Somehow I seem to skip letter N. LM..OP... ..

anyways. The code seems to be used so I believe I can share it here. Was it B3FBF 23D3C 2DDB6 22C8B?

Hopefully this is a suitable place for this question.

Recently started playing Civilization 4 again. Since last time I've upgraded Linux Mint 17.1 to Linux Mint 18.2. Am running the game through PlayOnLinux with Wine version 2.0.1. It's not the GOG version of the game, but an ancient version. When playing this game, I like to have the browser and music in one workspace, and the game in the other, then switch between them with Ctrl+Alt+Arrow left/right now and again, to check out forums, news, change music, and suchlike. Then switch back. The problem is that when I do this, the game seems to re-draw or something, and the in-game window I have with various events (wonders, techs, combat, etc) get removed, so I need to re-enable it, and drag it into place.

Got word that Wine 3.0 is out, so I tried to install that version and run it, but the behaviour is the same. Tried to downgrade to 1.6.2, and then it works, but this version sadly has some sound issues from time to time, especially if launching the game with something already playing (music or youtube - I like to listen to relaxing videos sometimes).

Do you guys know if there is a way to solve this? Presumably it would be best to use 2.0.1 or 3.0, but while able to switch workspaces without the game hanging for a few seconds and the events log getting disabled.

The game itself runs rock solid, so that's not an issue, but I would like to be able to switch workspaces without a hitch (the game also gets minimised for some reason).

Edit: Attached a picture. Can some of these settings help things along? Currently have it set to version 3.0.

Hello. Now that Wine 3 is here, have you any thoughts on it? Or you don't see it as an update that significant as the numbering suggests?

BTW, the link for the play.it weekly news on the first post as extra characters at the end.

Link was OK when it was posted, it’s now broken by some update/tweak of the GOG forum software.
Here’s the correct link, quote my message to see the workaround (an extra space between the [url] tags):
[Linux] ./play.it, weekly news

Oh. Is this the infamous URL forum bug? As you may guess, I don't have much experience with it, but I thought that it only acted when we had two URL tags in sequence. So I see that [Linux] is part of the thread name and did not end there through an edit mistake.
Thank you for clarifying the situation.

It's a very substantial update from 2.0.x, bringing CSMT and considerable DX10/11 support to the stable releases as well as a lot of other improvements. I plan to update all of my wrappers to 3.0/3.0-staging (when it's available)

I see 3.0 and also 3.0-rc1-6. Which one should I install? From Wine HQ, I think I understood that rc's are kind of "in development" parts that stand for "Release Candidate" but I wanted to ask again here.
