What I'm saying is that I found the accomplices that are available right now, and they're too heavy to fit with me in the car, but I can't afford a bigger car, and then the tutorial told me which accomplice that I'm supposed to take and also said that he could fit with me in the smallest car (the first one that I own by default), but he can NOT.

I don't know what to tell you, maybe the guide is wrong? I definitely didn't get stuck at that point.
But do you take Phil with you and try to get in the original default yellow junk car?

Edit: and by the way, two different guides said the same thing and they both seem to be wrong.

Sorry, I don't remember the game that well. I just know I was able to bring accomplices when I needed them - either a lighter accomplice or a bigger car, I can't remember which.
Maybe I'll just do a different mission first.
I just realized that ALL missions which are currently available require accomplices! And the car can only hold about 70 lbs in addition to my guy, and everyone weighs considerably more than that! And I don't have the money to buy another car!
Actually, it turned out to be a dumb mistake. I forgot to sell the stuff that I stole from the cinema, so I couldn't afford to buy a new car. But even so, that doesn't explain why two tutorials said that I could do it with the original car, which is impossible.

Anyway, I bought a new car and it worked pretty well, until a guard caught me by seeing a door that had been unlocked. However, I used a lock pick rather than a crowbar, so I don't know how that would leave any evidence. Am I supposed to re-lock the door somehow? How would I do that - by using the lock pick on it again? I don't even think that works, because he just says, "This is already unlocked." And if I did somehow do it, would it wear out the lock pick more?
never even heard of this
The Sting! was one of the first third-person 3D games to allow the player to freely roam a city, with a transportation system (taxis) to facilitate this, many buildings he can explore and buy tools, meet accomplices or observe, prior to planning a burglary.
I need to re-evaluate my gaming life
Oh, it's very good!
Now in the printing press, even the BEST person at cracking safes is SO SLOW on the safe in the office on the second floor that he can't do more than about a fourth of it by the time the guard comes back! AAAHHH!!!
