Yay, looks like I'm a bit late for the party, but – starting to deliver my traditional:

ONE LIST to rule them all,
One list to find them,
One list to bring them all
and in the forum bind them.

PassiveZombie: The HMM series has yet to gain traction with me, but that is only because I haven't tried them yet. :)
Everyone will tell you to start with Heroes of Might and Magic Ⅲ, supposedly the best game in the series.
Don’t do that ;)

For a first contact, I think it is much better to start with either:
- Heroes of Might and Magic Ⅱ, for grasping the basics with a nice "old-school" feel
- Heroes of Might and Magic Ⅴ, more complex but easier to learn than the third game, and with modern graphics and interface

PassiveZombie: lightly teasing yet surprised at the very low price. Might a release of one of the newer, shallower games be on the horizon, or is this just a sale special?

vv221: While Heroes of Might and Magic Ⅵ does not seem really interesting, I think I would buy Heroes of Might and Magic Ⅶ if it were available DRM-free ;)
VI was pretty bad and I wouldn't call VII good either. But definitely more manageable than VI.

V easier to learn? I honestly don't think so. Especially the initiative system is pretty complex, compared to III where it was all just based on speed previously. Having initiative and speed separately was one of the better changes for V. It is also not limited by rounds in a traditional sense, meaning a high initiative creature can play several times before a low initiative one.

Then you have the vastly expanded skill system for which you have to basically use an external app to see what is a pre-requisite for what and you have to think about the builds you do for your heroes. Every town also has its own
hero specialization.

As for II, I found it a bit too simplistic for my taste. III is also a good starting point, because it ties in with the Might & Magic games story-wise.
Some games usually on sale seem to be absent this round. Including one i was hoping would go on sale this round. Looks like another last-minute to buy sale to ensure i made the right choices.

Like that tourism ad comedy for Chicago that claimed that "We're not Detroit!"

Clairsentient: Are the demos removable from our library?
Why you want them removed from your game library?

Had been ready to pick up Dragon's Dogma Dark Arisen (4th time?) on GOG, but alas it didn't make this sale... along with a few others I had expected...

Well, glad to see the Warhammer Corsair game on sale. Had worried it would leave GOG as it had Steam.

It will happen eventually! I'm using Black Friday 2017 visual made by my teammate from (almost?) ever since profiles were introduced so can definitely say I sympathize :)
