Bof.
Zazak asks why his scummates need to be protected, if they do not have a bandwagon. Precisely because of that: he already is pinned, will proably go on D2 if he gets his way on D1 because of the backfire from the flip and because of people actually re-reading his series of posts and finding no substance there. So right now tries to prevent discussion on Pooka who has been nominated as suspicious in this thread by people like SPF, and of course is so vocally burning himself on Day 1 against Carradice. Zazak even adds the touch of nominating Genocide who in any case might not show up, and policy lynches are normally moot as they rarely are taken into effect.

And this from the guy who wrote the pearl “give me a break” when he was not even being addressed, at the mere discussion of his (anti-town) posts.

Now, this is addressing Zazak:

@Zazak: hi there. Did you notice the @? this means talk to you. No, probably this scumteflon you want to cast around Pooka will not hold up. So, what about your powers hunt? Any luck so far? Over and out (this means, the rest is NOT addressed to you).

That was nice a nice chat, wasn’t it?
¿No more fast replies? *shrugs*

Will check later who is lynched. If self, then at least one worry less. Will even self-vote if required, so that you can move on (but still you will lose a good chance of hitting scum). Really tired of replying to Pooka on the same issue. Really. It was too much and you know it.

Cheerio.

zazak09: Given that we probably have less than 24 hours left,
We have 24 + about 6 hrs left

Carradice: Cannot possibly understand Pooka’s last post under any imaginable logic mindset.
OK.

1. Before the quarantine, did you put me as Town or as scum? Or neutral?
2. If the answer to the above is "Town" then you changed your stance in one post - and therefore as I said, shifty and shady (suspicious (scummy))
3. You claimed the virus is making you sound more aggressive.
4. But, you "relaxed" once I told you you were sounding aggressive.
5. You keep drilling the "Pooka is scum" hole with confidence, almost as if there's no other explanation for why I'm doubting you.

There. My post broken into 5 simplified points.

Plus, I really like the "zazak is pinned" theory of yours, with me and Cadaver as his scumbuddies. Let me also address it in simplified points.
1. You're confidently calling the scumteam right now, with no reveals whatsoever, on Day 1. Barely any information!
2. Think about it better. If zazak and I were scum, we're both at huge risk of lynch by propelling ourselves into the forefront like we did. Better someone else than us, especially since Town will just lynch itself without our intervention.
3. And even this going into the forefront gambit is unfavorable, since from now on we'll be inseparable, rather than the usual distancing by scum.

Carradice, the way I see it, you're feeling pinned and also feel everyone is on to your game. You're even offering to self-vote, and that is never good for Town! (Source: yours truly learned that the hard way). This is because the self-voter - who will reveal their role and alignment once lynched - takes the place of a potential voter who we can analyze the next day! And with your impressive last game, self-voting is inexcusable. But eh. You hit the self-destruct button already. It's just a matter of time now.
Why is Carradice's "tone change" such a big deal?

Correct me if I'm wrong, but gogtrial told Carradice he was being too aggressive (which I agree with), even doing it in an "out of game" way. If somebody told me I'm being too aggressive, I'd tone down myself. So... what exactly is the problem?

Or am I missing something else altogether?

Those are pretty much my thoughts too.
I agree with everything Pooka said.

Carradice is falling apart with slightest amount of pressure. His last few posts reek of desperation, paranoia, and projection which are indicative of a noob scum player. His mafia buddies would be wise to distance themselves.
So, no one else finds zazak's asking me earlier to claim strange?

If his wagon is not going anywhere I might change to Genocide.

I'll give this a couple of more hours. Would love to hear from Genocide first and hear from Joe and Gamerager about who are they voting.

ZFR: So, no one else finds zazak's asking me earlier to claim strange?
No, it was definitely strange. I just thought it best to wait and see what happened. I'm not sure if zazak really didn't understand what you were doing or what.

SirPrimalform: I'm not sure if zazak really didn't understand what you were doing or what.
Maybe. Seeing how he wasn't present previous games, I'm thinking he took me too seriously.

trentonlf: Considering the fact that we have just a little over two days before the Day ends I suggest people VOTE who they most suspect right now so we can get a better understanding of where things stand. Waiting till the last minute and then just voting to avoid a no lynch gets us NOWHERE info wise.
Agreed.

That said I don't suspect many atm due to it being early on and also not watching the game as closely due to IRL(more on this near the end of my post in the "to all" bits).

gogtrial34987: (There seems to be an unusually high percentage of people not reading carefully in this game.)
Could be in good part due to the IRL situation hitting a bunch of people.....the last game ended just as that was starting to affect more and more people, and this one is taking place during it.

Carradice: Would ask for a group hug but, you know, distance (2 m, 6 feet, whatever you prefer). Peace.
We could all get tested and wear gloves/masks, or give e-hugs. o.0 :D

ZFR: I was trying to see who would berate me for revealing I had a role. And who, if any, would be the third person to jump on my wagon.

None of these happened. The only reaction was you saying you think I'm scum and placing a first vote on me which you later removed. I guess everyone thought I was joking?
I thought you might be joking....I also didn't want to call attention too much to it if you were serious.

trentonlf: I can't get on board with this, IMO anyone is fair game Day 1. I am a believer of the tough love when it comes to Mafia games, hand holding makes for players who develop bad habits. Not only am I fan of tough love but we have 3 people who have never played a game on GOG, exempting them from being a possible lynch on Day 1 means 25% of the player base gets a free pass for today, not very fair I would say to the rest of the players.
And I say we stick to the "fair" policy of letting them have 1 "day" when new.....if everyone gets that when newbies, that seems more than fair(also it helps encourage them to play more games in the future in some cases). :)

Time is marching on. Accusations fly back and forth. 'You're too eager to throw someone out!' - 'Nah, you're not eager enough. Don't you want us safe?' Some consider if it weren't better to sleep in the same room. But wouln't that allow the killer or killers to kill all of you at once? Wouldn't that make you all easy targets for what else the ghosts in the hotel might throw at you? Just as you consider the possibility, you see the room on fire. Only a moment, then it's gone. But it has you retching from the lingering smell of smoke. Only and illusion! Just an illusion! So you tell yourself.

(Clip is YT video with sound.....also a great game[albeit hard as balls sometimes] btw)

zazak09: @Lift should replace Genocide because he's clearly not interested in what's going on. If we're going to policy lynch anyone, it should be GameRager. He posts a lot , but contributes almost nothing of substance.
Suggesting OP replace players because they don't post much? Really?

This isn't like "normal" mafia games....here we're more laid back/lenient and have more fun with it than other places.

(I agree genocide might need to be prodded a bit, though, if they fall behind in posting)

avatar
trentonlf: Right now the votes are all over the place with no consensus as to who most want to lynch. If we continue this way there will be no time for any good discussion about the lynch with reasoning behind it and, as seems to be the norm, at the last minute a rush of votes will come in for someone with no real reasoning behind them except for "I am voting them to avoid a no lynch"
The thing is, I don't suspect anyone much at this point....so at least in my case it'd have to be "vote to avoid a no lynch".

I was waiting to see if someone caught my eye, but you're right. I will check wagons and prior posts and likely cast a vote in the next several hours....hopefully it'll be a good one.

I do hope you're not getting burnt out due to Pooka/anyone else's posts combined with IRL. You post some interesting posts sometimes and it would be a shame to see you go so soon.

As such, I am leaning you slightly more town because of this post(could be a clever scum gambit, but I don't think it likely is).

Is there a reason you're piling on Carradice so much, then? :|

I know tensions are high in such games(and especially with what's going on in the world), so shouldn't we try to dial our "poking and prodding" back a bit when people seem a bit as Carradice did in the post you quoted?

My list, sadly, is very lackluster(due to IRL and such)....my list:

That and the "backseat modding"/other posts on similar make me put zazak slightly up on the list, along with Pooka (a bit less than zazak but still on the list) for the constant focusing on Carradice, and maybe the super lurkers like genocide(though I do want to give them another day out of fairness).

Dunno where to place Carradice....he likely is burnt out on the game a bit, but it could also be a clever scum gambit.
===============================================================

To ALL: Sorry for being gone so long.....my one poor cat died yesterday and I had to make arrangements while having to be mindful of Covid.....so sorry for the delays.

That said, I will be voting in a few hours once I collect my thoughts/check the wagons. Have a good one, all.

During RVS I wrote it off as a joke, but I took it seriously when he brought it up again on page 10.

For the record, softclaiming on day one is anti-town (even if bluffing), and would be grounds for an immediate policy lynch on some forums. I was nice about it this time, but if it ever happens again I will go after that person hard.

This ISN'T other forums, though....you have to be ready and willing to adapt as needed.

We had a player same as you in one game...they played these games like those on other forums....it turns out those they suspected were scum, BUT the way they played helped scum out and to win(it alienated a good chunk of the town base against them, even though they were right).

Just some food for thought.

Not here, at least not always. I'd take it on a case by case basis. Please explain why it's always anti-town and grounds for a policy lynch in all circumstances?

@GR: Really sorry to hear about your cat. I went through something similar about 5 years ago.
