So I effectively only missed the higher discounts on Thief and Evil West (which anyway still was too expensive for me).

GOG, why not leave the information there and just mark it as expired as in other calendars? And why hiding discounts behind codes we have to redeem instead of putting the discounts into the catalog? That makes the "Lowest price in the last 30 days before discount" information on the game cards quite useless as these hidden discounts are not counted there.

As someone who likes to participate in several of these online advent calendars, let me tell you: many don't show the content, once the day is over.
When clicking on expired "doors", you'll usually only get shown a message ala: "Oops, sorry, you missed this opportunity", or something to that extent.
(YMMV, of course - depending on the online advent calendars you partake in)

Just noticed - Killing Time Classic started receiving higher discounts after the remaster released. On top of leaving it up for sale in the first place.

Going to reward that by grabbing the original. If only this was the case for all remasters.

The newsletter discounts aren't counted there either, for that same reason. May be on purpose...

Yes, I loved those when I was a kid, my parents prepared advent calendars for me themselves with homemade cookies, toys, candy and other things. :)
If you know someone good enough a self made advent calendar is always appreciated, in my experience at least. :)

But I'll agree on the gog calendar being mostly uninteresting, so far at least.
There were two deals I was interested in, but both offers ran out before I could get the games. The time limit is a huge con imho. :/

I assume you don't count the nice chocolate in the regular advent calendars as "worthwhile"?
Because it sure was for me as a kid.

In regard to digital advent calendars: I have won several times over the years.
Mind you: nothing big - never the "main price" on the 24th, but definitely nice (smaller) things, that I absolutely felt were "worthwile".

Physical advent calendars are just an excuse to eat chocolate :V
