AFnord: Where did you get langos? I thought those were nearly extinct in these parts. Well, unless you make them yourself (which is quite doable, I've done it several times).

Tarm: A Pizzeria where I live, Markaryd, recently changed owners and I was very happy when I noticed that they now have Langos on the menu. :) I'm hoping it's a sign that Langos is starting to get popular. It's a nice alternative to pizza and a shame it's so rare.
I hope it spreads to Stockholm, the only place you can get it around here (as far as I know) is at Gröna Lund. It used to be quite easy to get, in the mid 90's, but then langos just disappeared.

strixo: Laphroaig peat? let's just go with campifire. white rabbits!! white rabbits!
Laphroaig is indeed a fine malt. Guess who has an all-you-can-drink ticket to a single malt whisky tasting day next weekend?

Me.

And yes, I'm drunk. But I'm Scottish, so it's... expected.

Sorry my Scottish brother, I drank the Laphroaig as a service to a friend and the bottle. Since those weeks I've migrated to California Zinfandels and French pastis. Delicious, delicious pastis, plus a chair on the balcony to interpret clouds.

As a serice to a friend and the bottle? I sincerely hope you mean that you drank a spirit you were not in favour of as a mark of friendship and respect, rather than to mark the passing of a friend?

On a lighter note, I must admit I'd never heard of Pastis. If it shares any DNA with Greek Ouzo, I must pass. Aniseed sweeties? Yummy. Aniseed spirits? No thanks. Saying that, I hope to be proven wrong.

She couldn't handle the single malt, it grew hair out of her ears. As a service to her, I took it. As a service to the bottle, I didn't let it get dusty on the shelf.

I find ouzo a bit sweeter, sambuca noxiously so. Pastis has some hints of flowers. Not for everyone, definitely. Would like to try absinthe, but it's a tad expensive in the U.S..
Had too much last night. Did stupid things, didn't sleep well. And still a little drunk.

Do you find Pastis in your local stores or do you have to order it online ?
I don't drink, but does acting strange from lack of sleep count ?

I just tried to trade a poem for a GoG. And somehow I'm surprised I had no offers.

then I pre ordered a game even though I'm pretty broke and won't have a job soon because I kind of walked out on it last Friday (long story.)

so if this is how silly I can be when simply tired, I'd hate to see me drunk.

Maybe you're one of those guys who act more responsible when drunk. Give it a try.

Cambrey: Do you find Pastis in your local stores or do you have to order it online ?
I find it locally, in one of a few particularly well-stocked distilled-beverage stores. I have not located any of the middle-eastern branches of anise-flavored spirit.

On a side note: I am in Texas, and not in a particularly cosmopolitan city. So it gets around.
Keep drinking or eat something... decisions...
I'm not drunk. :(
