Thanks for the article....that said, I think i'd rather trust the people of china who leak/post things on occasion a bit more than officials working for their leadership(whose job is part "damage control").
=====================================================

(To all: Of course, such numbers could likely be checked via various means....so I suggest anyone reading my posts or anything else here to check such yourself via other sources/means)

Nothing wrong with that :) but still scmp is more believable than a site that tries to estimate the number of deaths
on the number of urn's that relatives received.

Fair enough.....though I believe that site you linked said deaths from other causes was around 10k(In and/or around Wuhan)......while the number of urns being shipped out is supposedly much higher.

So(if the shipping numbers are accurate) either they have had many more deaths than they officially stated(due to Corona), OR they(funeral homes/etc) expect to need them in the future.

Either way, though, it doesn't sound too good(or as good as it could be).

That said, this disease is taking it's toll on the world & I hope for two things: That we can prevent as many deaths as possible, and that we can return to "normal life" as soon as possible.

The number of urns was guessed on the amount that was given out each day and while on lockdown
the relatives could not get those ones. That does not mean there are 10x more corona deaths if you insist on that
than i will just take the amount of bodybags the pentagon is shiping to extrapolate some numbers :)
But yeah we will never know the truth about this.

Agreed....I still like to try puzzling things out, though....it gives me at the very least something to do while being more locked in than usual.

To all/adding to the thread: some over-the-top measures being taken by some stores/chains:

Walmart now limiting the number of shoppers entering their stores to one at a time and only allowing very limited capacity...might go further and direct people to travel down aisles in only one direction-etc

Dunno if this one is ALL Walmart stores, but i've seen it in my local Walmart...the 1 in, 1 out thing, that is.....hopefully they won't roll out the stupid sounding "travel down each aisle in only one direction" nonsense.

I mean c'mon....I'm pretty sure people know how to avoid others in stores(especially with smaller store occupancy limits) without being directed like street traffic.

Some stores in Vermont(Like Walmart and Costco) to not allow purchases of "non essentials"

Online orders are still allowed, but other things are not allowed to be sold like: Clothes(apparently clothing isn't essential), media(games, movies, books), and other things.

----------------------------------------------------------

Also one city(Miami Beach) has put an order into effect stating anyone in any open business(supermarkets, restaurants, pharmacies, etc) MUST wear masks in them

Question: Is that even LEGAL? What if someone lives alone and doesn't have a mask?

My wife's a nurse in downtown Philadelphia and I posted before that her hospital was actually very slow compared to normal, and nurse hours were being cut. It's beginning to pick up now, with 20-ish Covid patients, but is still very slow overall. Maybe, god willing, we'll never get as bad as New York.
Problem solved it looks like.

They are likely doing that to not have to sanitize the seats every so often......though imo they should leave SOME seats open for the elderly/weak to sit on.

Nope....and thanks....added to the OP post as it contains useful info/could help people. :)

That said, I disagree on making people wear such masks by force/pressuring people to do so, but I agree wearing them likely does help reduce the spread of this.
