monkeydelarge: I don't think it's Obama's fault your doctor is retarded and the people who work at his office are liars

AdamR: The Obama thing was a joke. Always blame the president. Anytime my friends and I are pissed about something, whether it is a snow storm or a computer not working, we throw in "Obama" at the end to be funny.
I guess that joke was poorly placed though - at the end of a serious and pissed off rant... Probably not the best timing.
I thought you were serious because there is a lot of people in this country who blame Obama for everything nowadays.
He has become very unpopular.

No way is it all on his shoulders. It took this country years of doing the wrong kind of things to get where were at. Inisitance on spending more on our military than the next 10 largest nations, extreme greed in capitalism to the point of gaining profits and bottom lines to the detriment of the American worker, Congressmen who do not actually represent or protect their constituents very well.

The only thing I really blame Obama for is not sticking to his guns and caving in politically to bureaucracy. For example that so called debt ceiling crisis could have been easily averted with an executive order. How? Well an executive order must have some basis in the Constitution in order to be used (or to further a law made by Congress). The president need only remind Congress of the 1 article; section 8 and points 2,3, and 18 of the Constitution and invoke an order that since Congress can't agree to raise the ceiling to pay ongoing debt, the executive order is being issued until an alternative is found.

Now the Supreme Court could over rule it, but I doubt they would since it does have a basis in the Constitution (repaying debt and keeping the government running basically) and they aren't financial experts. They would have had no way to gauge the counter argument of the time (we can pay some bills now and other bills later) and would not hang themselves out to put it to the test.

The onus would then be on Congress to overturn the order by way of not funding which the president can still veto but congress could overturn (the presidents veto) if they got a 2/3rds majority vote. I'll just say that ain't happening in the "Do nothing Congress"... By the time Congress or the Supreme Court got around to weighing in on it, Congress probably would have came to an agreement sooner knowing it wasn't going to be overturned if it got to that point.

I don't want to turn this into a political thread, but there is no current politician that does not deserve to be ridiculed and/or blamed for the current state of our economy. That goes for Repubs, Dems, and all those other parties. I got the joke the first time, but I have no reason to make excuses for our shitty government.

A friend of mine does a similar thing. Whenever something doesn't work as intended on his computer he raises his arms or punches the desk and yells "DAMN BILL GATES!!!". If it's something minor he just mumbles "Gates".

My backup drive is now an unreliable piece of shit.
Tried transferring files over and keep getting a missing file warning, usually a Try Again fixes it but it is a really annoying thing to keep having to do. So, I visit the Western Digital website, a firmware update seems to fix the issue. Unfortunately, WD has software that automatically downloads and installs the firmware update for you, I can not manually download the firmware, and their software has problems finding an internet connection. Tried on home, work, and tethered via mobile phone but receive the same internet connection error. Though I am able to download software and bitch about this problem on GOG.
So, It looks like I am going to go back to Seagate drives...I still have two smaller, three year old external Seagate Drives...and I will purchase a new 1TB Seagate drive. My apologies to GOG for having to download every game I own one more time, but I just can not trust whatever data is on that hard drive, unless I have no duplicates and then I have no choice (like my laptops original Hard Drive Image).

I wouldn't be surprised if he got reelected. Just look at DC and Marion Barry the crackhead.

With our politicians, it doesn't matter what party they are affiliated with, they are still just in it for themselves and the kickbacks.

Well i heard that more than 100 million americans are in need of welfare. so i guess it won't take too long until there will be a "big bang" over there. Sounds ridiculous but the people in the mid east sometimes fight over minor things, so...maybe....

A riot or coup would only happen if the President preempted American Idol or Survivor. We are stuck with those bastards.

In recent past, the healthcare lobby in America has spent over half a billion dollars in a single year. Add the insurance lobby to that, and the figure scraped two-thirds of a billion dollars. The mess is here to stay.
