Sogi-Ya: there are two kinds of people who will MOD a forum:

Those who do it because they know it will turn into a total clusterfuck without moderation.
(so they are doing it out of a sense of necessity)

Those who do it because they think that doing so makes them fuuuucking awesome.
(so they are doing it because they are total losers in the real world)

P.S. fuck you Java, and fuck you shitty teacher that dished out a pain in the ass assignment after babbling incoherently for two days as if this shit is easy. It's real nice that all of this makes total sense to you after you been using it for the last 50 years (<-sarcasm), the rest of us still don't know WTF "public class" is outside of "it's that shit the book told me to type."
If it's any consolation, when I took my second programming class as a bright eyed college student, my professor simply entered the classroom, took attendance, and then told us the lecture and assignments were on a ppt on the school server. Then he left the classroom. All in the first three minutes, leaving us alone for the other hour and 12 minutes. :p

The only saving grace was at least it was our advanced programming class, so I had actual experience under my belt at that point. I can't even imagine what it would have been like if he'd taught my introductory class.

I had a few bad profs in college, but this one. Just wow. What made it really funny was that he gained tenure the semester after that. :p

Of course the former often turn at least partially into the latter. Even if they aren't losers in real life. Hell, I think a real loser would be a good moderator. No life to get in the way of moderating, and an empathy for and patience with others that those who are successful and on top of things could never have gotten to where they were in life if they had had.

I think I'm lucky enough that I've never had any really bad teachers. Well there was one who seemed like she didn't care about my learning at all, but I dropped her class really quick.
Freaking uS gOV and their meddling! Too many items to list. And serious ones at that. But whats got me worked up, at this moment in time, is their meddling in my poker. They went and made online poker illegal! I can still play with play money but I can't enter any freeroll tourneys with a cash payout.... or any cash games for that matter, even for a penny ante. I like the big 10,000 player freerolls. Nothing like it! But noooo, the uS flapping gOV deems it unhealthy or unwise or something. Prolley big casino got corrupted politicians in their pocket. Frackin bullsquat whatever the reasoning.

Just tired of their meddling. Can't smoke this herb, can't build that outbuilding, can't play international poker from my home, can't do this nor that. Whats next? Will we need a marriage license to fornicate!?! Signs Signs Everywhere a Sign.

LoL After posting this I was just cashing out in a play money tourney when I got this "forced payout" message. I've won a little freeroll money but have by now put all the money into entry fees for cash tournaments. But I've got one shiny penny ($0.01) left. Seems I must cash out now or lose it. LoL should I cash it? Or should I flip them the bird? I don't like being "forced". Now, they won't put me in jail for not cashing out, but still I feel like I'm telling them "May the Bird of Paradise Fly Up Your Nose" as I resist.

Sogi-Ya: ....
Here ya go: http://www.javaranch.com/
Life sucks in general, but MODERN life sucks most.

I have 22 yrs old and I don't have a job and even qualifications because of DAMNED academic education. You start your life on your own in your late twenties! And even then, you can't think about children and family because you earn SHIT

I'm cursing about my life often. Why on earth I haven't gotten any business great plan three years ago? Now I would have got a company, maybe not with big earning but I would feel I'M ALIVE.

I'm just f***** existing, and I know I can't stop my god damned, not needed education, because three years have past, and two more to go.

I wish I lived 1500 years ago as a merchant or someone like that... I would have a family, home, children, some money to live... Now I've got nothing.

And I can't stop my education that I DON'T EVENT WANT, because my parents have put enormous amounts of money and hard work in it, and I don't have anything to pay off...

Hello. I'm 22-year-old student and I haven't lived my life yet.

I once had a teacher that didn't teach at all, nor did he give us any material to study on our own. During the first lecture, he told his life story and then started singing Queen karaoke (yes, really). There was this one special time he didn't bother showing up at all. His assistant brought a cell phone to the 100 people auditorium, put it on the table, turned its speakers on and left. The teacher spoke to us from home. I was sitting in the first row and couldn't hear what he was saying, I think he was talking about how he used to play ice hockey. I still don't know what that course was even supposed to be about, but it was mandatory in that polytechnic. I'm so glad I switched to a university.
WTF is wrong with Java teachers?!?!?!

Dude went on a rant today about Spinal Tap, he even started quoting lines from it in character ... it was like watching what happens when you toss out a Holy Grail quote in the middle of a comic con, only with one guy quoting lines back to himself.
sigh what a bad news, for any of the old school wwf wrestling fans, macho man randy savage passed away in a accident :( rip will always miss that "oh yeeeeah"

The story of my toxic relationship continues.

We have hardly any privacy with my brother lurking around my apartment 24/7 and her sister doing the same at her place also 24/7. Naturally there is little to no time to get intimate. So this friday my brother goes to another town to see a concert and we were supposed to meet. She told me to finish all my assignments over the week so we would have a weekend for ourselves and I did that, sleeping less and working nights.

Then she calls me on friday and tells that she is going to a party with her sisters. It makes me sad and I tell her that later on that day. She tells me that it's my own fault because I should tell her that I don't agree with her going out when she called and goes to the party, gets wasted hard.

Next day I meet with her and I hear some really fucked up shit. Things like 'we meet too often'. Hell, what the fuck does that even mean? I thought when people love each other they want to spend time with each other. And we don't meet that often either. Weekends mainly and every day (I mean, EVERY DAY), I pick her up with my car when she finishes her work. I thought it's just being nice, she doesn't have to take bus and spend countless hours in it. I also help her with groceries and some shopping etc.

Of course with me hating any kind of personal conflict, especially with people I care about, I end up apologizing to her and saying it's my fault I got sad over her leaving me alone on friday. Now I don't know anymore what to do. Am I supposed to ignore her and wait for her to tell me that she wants to hang out? I am always there for her, always ready to help and fuck, what do I get? I hear that we meet too often. It's really a fresh relationship (8 months), I am as much in love as I were some months ago and I still would like to spend as much time as possible with her. And I mean just hanging out since sex is a rare commodity in this relationship (once/2 weeks at best) but I never ever complained about it to her.

Bleh.

barjed: snippy
I think you may have to cut your losses with her...

It will be painfull but time is a good healer.

You could try just letting her do her own thing, let her do the chasing as it were, no lifts, no help shopping ect, wait for her to contact you. If she doesnt bother or if she calls asking for help with the things that you do (lifts ect) tell her that she said you though you meet too often. That will probably lead to an arguement in which you can turn around and tell her its rather 1 sided, list the things you do and the thing that she does, explain that you want to spend time with her and if she doesnt want to spent time with you then you need to ask yourself is it worth it.

It sounds to me like your a convenience to her. That isnt what a relationship is about.

I means you cut her loose man. She doesn't like you that much, you don't want to be a stand in until someone she likes better comes along, do you? Of course no one may because she might not be that great of a catch (or become less attractive in her own mind since you started dating).

Just count it as a lesson learned, you'll know the signs of a chick not being that into you in the future.

Sorry, I know it sucks. Don't waste emotion on a lost cause, fairy tale romance doesn't exist for mere mortals, but what does can be a lot better than what you're describing!

I had that same Proffesor, seriously! He came to class, took role, sometimes left right away, the rest of the time he just sat at his computer doing whatever he wanted to and ignoring us. What tops it off, is that I worked harder than most people in that class, missed only one day, and he still gave me a B...I think he forgot to record that I completed one of the assingments (for the day I missed) or maybe he just gave everyone a B. I tell you, its a wonder some of these people get paid to do what they do.
I give up. I've been trying to reason with one of my friends, but no avail. He is one individual, who pirates all of his games, discards them after six months (since no-one plays them anymore...) and won't listen to me when I try to explain that he should pay for those games.

Nope, his answer is always "why pay when it's free". And now he's getting Witcher 2... I told him that if there ever is a game he should buy, it's the Witcher 2. Even out of respect. But no. He just told me that "he's not afraid of the possible letter he might get for downloading" (what letter?)

I give up. There's no point in arguing with him anymore. I sincerely hope he gets caught one day. It would be a nice lesson.

Here, here.
It's funny how people will convince themselves that what they are doing is okay just because it serves their purposes. Drug use comes to mind. I have known many drug users who have proffessed to me the virtues of their chosen narcotic, and why it is so good for them (some of whom I have seen their lives fall apart later).

You go into a prison, nearly everyone will tell you how they never committed the crime they did, or how they were right to do what they did, and they are all the victims. Really there is no sense in trying to convince these people of anything, until they are willing to admit to themselves that they may have done some wrong. And, lets face the facts, some people grow up with little in the way of a conscience, they satsify themselves, and nothing else matters. I don't even know how one changes from that frame of mind, I think it is possible, but very unlikely. Sorry about your Friend KneeTheCap. :\
