i don't know exactly when the changelog was introduced but I just noticed it today and wanted to say thank you for finally addressing such an annoying issue like updating.

I own almost 300 games and the updating flags regularly appear and it was always a pain trying to figure out whether it pertained to an update of gameplay or was just an added language or new OS support. Now with the changelog I can see what was updated and happily move on with my day.

I did follow the thread "what did just update" but let's be frank, it's a mess and this new changelog method it's a nice and tidy way of telling your customers that you listen to them and that you care.

Thank you GOG.

AMEN
This morning when I got that Blood update it took me two seconds to find out EXACTLY what the update was rather then spending half an hour combing the forums trying to figure out if it was something I needed.

A lot of griping in the forum today but not here. Very nice fix.
True, this is one was a really useful feature requested by many.
Now we need a "mark as read\unread" option, though :P

And a salad bar.

And an "Updated" sort order would be nice.
Is this thread sarcasm? Because I just got a notification that won't go away, and I can't figure out what supposedly got updated. What changelog are you talking about?

It should be in the drop down menu of the updated game. But a few days ago, I had an updated game without changelog, too.

And checking my library now, I noticed that apparantly the Changelog is only visible until you've downloaded the update? Is that correct? I checked the update on Realms of Arkania 3 today and it had a changelog, but clicking on the game now after downloading the installer brings up no option to view the Changelog again.

Not for me. I was able to go to change log and see what the update was just fine before downloading anything,

Now I did this through the web page, NOT Galaxy, if that makes a difference.

No, I mean after downloading, not before. As if the changelog option acts like those old flags and disappears again once the users have taken notice of the changes.

shit I missread

Sorry about that :D
Okay, now I'm seeing the update for Realms of Arcania 3. Before it just said "Updated (0)", and no game had that blue dot. Still seeing the notification though.
Something is definitely up. I have a notification of 1 update in my library, but when I click over to my library, it disappears, and there is a 0 next to UPDATED under MY COLLECTION. I can't tell what's been updated, and it won't go away. Confusion.
I even tried disabling/enabling the barefoot essentials script thing, but no difference. Is it Realms of Arkania 3? I do have that, but it doesn't show up as updated.

Yes, RoA3 was updated. Something about an alternative desktop shortcut running the game with JEMM for those who have issues with the game crashing during the mirror battle or something like that.

I had that problem with notification and no update in the library at first too, but reloading a few times fixed it. I guess it's connected to the heavy traffic and server overload?

Maybe. It finally showed up for me, but now after I've seen the update (and even checked the changelog) it won't go!
There's definitely still some problems with this new feature. But I can only believe it will continue to improve. No more guessing or looking through that dreaded "what did just update" thread.

Life made easier.
