That isn't what I was saying.... I'm talking about contemporary Islam. The religion way well of been quite progressive hundreds of years ago, but you can't deny that today compared to the rest of the modern world Islam is extremely reactionary and backward. I mean come on who cares about hundreds of years ago, we're talking about people who are beheading people for blasphemy and stoning women to death in 2014. I mean if a group of Christians somehow developed which went killing infidels it would be condemned and isolated by everyone in society, on the other hand Islamic State? We're is the massive outcry from the Muslim world?

I mean Europe figured out this whole separation of church and state thing centuries ago, what's holding Islam back?

The very idea that this shit is called a religion makes it NOT peaceful and understanding. You don't need to have a disease to be peaceful and understanding.

If I were in charge of the Middle-East I'd proceed to arrest all the radical clergy (or clerics, whatever they're called) and put them in prison. Then I'd make a law that every sermon a preacher writes has to be approved by the government, and all religious activities have to be approved ahead of time by the government. Then I'd close down all religious schools and make it against the law to religiously educate any minor until they're 18 and have been through a secular public education system. I'd make it the law that any woman or man can wear whatever they want and do whatever they like (within the law) and say whatever they like about Muhammad, and parents cannot force children (or anyone) to join any religious activity, and if any conservative fucks get in the way then my secret police would cave their skulls on the pavement.

Give it a generation or two, problem solved.

HiPhish: I'm going to post something many people here won't like to read, so let me preface it with the obvious disclaimer that I would never support such acts of violence.

But... Charlie Hebdo had it coming and they should be glad that there were not even more people killed. As a reminder, the magizine has been shitting on everyone and everything, and that doesn't make them any better, to the contrary, it just makes them even worse people. There have been lawsuits from many parties that got insulted, and every civilised attempt to reason with them has failed. All that is left now are the uncivilised methods.

Freedomo of Speech is a nice concept on paper, but it has its limits just as everything has. Freedom of Speech means the government is not allowed to put you in prison for criticising it, not that you are allowed to shit on everyone and everything with no consequences. The fact that Charlie Hebdo has been getting away for so long with this behaviour is a testimony to how rotten western morale has become.

This isn't the first time that Charlie Hebdo has suffered a terrorist attack, but they just had to keep pushing it. Now they got to feel the consequences. I don't like that it had to come to this, but the tragedy could have been avoided by putting limits in place. If you keep provoking a reaction don't come crying when you do receive a reaction.

You don't try and suppress people and their beliefs for the actions of a few. We're only seen that attempted with every single dictatorship in history. If history has taught us anything, it's that trying to control or limit the beliefs, thoughts, and actions of others only accelerates opposition. It rarely if every destroys it. And since we always fail to learn that basic lesson, we have to repeat it over and over again. I guess that's why they call it REVOLUTION. Because like our beautiful planet Earth, it just keeps going 'round and 'round.

Yes, because censoring people and rounding up their leaders and culture wizards is a such a brilliant idea. A group of people that I need not repeat is already three sheets to the wind and suffering from a massive inferiority complex. Stomping these people at this point would be like tossing barrels full of gunpowder onto a large bonfire.

I absolutely agree with you about the immigration problem in Europe (and here in the States). This has been going on and building up quietly in the background for years. But going hardcore at this point is like shutting the barn door after all the horse's have gotten out. The problem is here. We're here. They're here. We have to learn to live together. Where? In which Western country is Darwinism forbidden? Because Darwinism is almost certainly banned in any Muslim country, as is being an atheist. If you wouldn't get thrown in a mental aslyum or prison you'd get killed by regular civilians.

There is no comparison and you know it. In a Western country a woman can walk around in a skirt and not be kidnapped by religious mobs for being "immodest" . In an Islamic country you can be given the death penalty for trying to leave Islam or convert to another religion. Again, I'm an atheist and I dislike all religion, but it's clear as day that Western Christianity is in another universe than Islam.

Except we are factually correct, homo sapiens did evolve God didn't create anything, carbon dating, fossilization, the motherfucking DINOSAURS, it all proves that everything the Abrahamic religions say is true is a lie. That is not the problem. The problem is that they're all flooding here thinking it'll make life easier, whilst doing so it's reducing our country into a third world shit hole. They're abusing our benefit schemes, destroying our way of living, doing a wonderful at taking up our housing and basically moulding the country into their own little shut off communities. Of course that isn't directed solely at that one group of people. The eastern Europeans as a whole are turning my area into an utter shit hole. No offence towards anyone but it's true.

Edit: Just to make sure everyone sees it. I AM very sorry if that offends any one. It's just life as I and the locals here know it put into words.
