P. Zimerickus: Shadow Empire
turn 212

Well do I ever....

strenght victory

Back to work!
Well done! I'm fairly new to Shadow Empire still but man I really like it. Such a cool combination of 4x and wargaming.

I'm curious about Galactic Civilizations IV - some reviews are negative, others glowing, yet it seems to have a healthy playerbase. I don't like Stellaris and much prefer my strategy games to be GAMES, not simulations or 'story generators'. Please share your thoughts about the game.
"Standing at the top of the cliff, a derelict monastery. An anachronistic island in a sea of decaying technology, The surrounding residential structure looms oppressively, its vast expanse of concrete and rusted metal interwoven with a labyrinth of cables. Everything is draped in a strange, sickly moss. An eerie silence hung in the air, broken only by the distant hum of the megastructure. The moss, with its unsettling, almost sentient presence, clung to the remnants of the past, casting a malign shadow over this forgotten place. Each step towards the monastery feels like a descent into madness, the boundaries between the organic and the artificial blurring in the twilight of a world long caving in on itself. It's hard to tell what belongs to what time anymore. The only compass here is the pull of the anomaly's core."

Thank you.

I'm a bit on the fence when it comes to Stardock. The Creative Assembly, Matrix and Hooded Horse have my preference over Paradox and 2K for example. If the whole resource gathering system is less obtuse as in Galciv III i might feel right at home in IV

The game is Bleak Faith: Forsaken and the description is one of the many echoes/documents found in game.

Thank you. Reminds me of Mortal Shell, which I really liked. This seems heavy on exploration, that's always great.
I am currently playing Dredge, just started it earlier today. Overall, the game is pretty nice and the soundtrack is refreshing.

The forum does not allow images over 466 KB to be posted. Going for a jpg or jpeg format helps a lot with decreasing size. Choosing a smaller resolution als helps with downsizing.

Zimerius: Shadow Empire
Another 80 turns

*Managed to push back the fauna
*Managed to eXpand (lol)
*Managed to integrate an Alien settlement into my civ (this was like WoW)

*Realized i have enough Iron reserves to last maybe another 40 turns (without warfare)
*Realized that there is only 1 solution to the iron problem with the current parameters (litosphere mining)
Wow this to-me-unknown-game looks promising.
Does it have the same feeling as the new xcom? Or is it more like civ?

Thanks for the tip. I tried attaching a 1 MB uncompressed image before (since the attached images button mentioned 2 MB as the maximum file size), but it didn't work. I compressed it and converted it to JPG as suggested, and it works now.

So combat is more like X-Com than your standard 4x game? Because what I've seen so far on screenshots looks gameplay-wise more like your standard 4x.

In a way it is yes. Combat is SO advanced in this title a regular 4x won't cut it in a higher tiered :p comparison. For example, unit stacking and a highly advanced tactical AI backed by several generations of Wargaming knowledge is really something to be hold.... and the [ii]DICES[/i] man the dices do they suck

Still! this is a 4x title!!!!!!!.... don't ask me funny questions please

No problem. Tell gog to finally add a block feature so we don't have to "enjoy" each others posts again.
