Xeshra: Actually, made a fallure... for "Remaking" there is a "Plain Omelet" needed, the other food is for "Customization". So, have to take care not to "mix this stuff"; else it may not work well. Indeed Star Ocean the Second Story R got a pretty advanced crafting-system, so it is wise figuring out its possibilities.
That's OK. I'm totally allergic to eggs, lol.

After finally getting into the ruined cathedral, Scarlett notice a broken statue and some of its shards around the area.
Very familiar and then what she would have to do was obvious.

Taking out several minor demons haunting the place, Scarlett repaired the statue and landed, similarly as in the previous times, into the realm of the dead.
And as usual her fallen friend was there , but this time he looked worried and after giving some power to Scarlett told her to run the hell away.

There was indeed something, some undead necromancer had arrived , tasked by his masters to find and kill her.
He animated the various skeletons around the place and Scarlett with her good old hammer had to break a lot of bones.
But fortunately she prevailed.

After destroying with her hammer the various scraps blocking the ruined cathedral entrances, she got out and noticed then the huge prison ship. That would certainly be her next goal, the guy that was imprisonned there had some important information for Scarlett

It seems to be a long game, good value for one's GOG library. I wonder about replay value because sometimes long games can leave you burned out or they lure you back shortly after completion.
Unfortunately while it's a long game it is mostly linear as you're following a main quest and the side quests are on the same way, there are very few reasons to go back to previous areas (unless a side quest ) as you probably already explored it all already.
Even if you can choose a different guild on further playthrough, they don't have enough exclusive quest to really change things (only 2 or 3 side quests for each guild).

So replay value while it still exist isn't really good, but replaying it once every couple of years isn't so bad.

After looking around to find a way to infiltrate the prison ship, Scarlett finally found an opportunity.
Encountering the boss of a thief group, she obtained a spot for a meeting with one of the lackeys of the undead masters owning the prison ship.

She wasn't alone after that guy apparently but Scarlett battle prowesses took care of the competition in a bloody way as usual.
The guy gave Scarlett a way to enter the enemy palace and from there they would be able to get into the ship undetected.

But unfortunately, all of this was a trap and she found herself in jail without her trusty equipment in ... the prison ship
So despite the misfortune at least Scarlett was where she wanted to be.

Grabbing a bone from a skeleton to be used as a sword and using her brain to trick the guard to open the cell, she escaped.

Payback was going to be very painful for the enemies.

While roaming the prison and taking out enemies , Scarlett manage to free a prisonner , convenientely completing a side quest.

Replacing her sword/bone with a good 2 handed axe looted on the persians troopers, Scarlett continued the carnage until she finally found her equipment in some chest stockpile .

It came in handy as she needed her Moonblade scythe in order to destroy some minor demons that were apparently oddly working on some books.

Getting out of the prison Scarlett found herself on the prison ship bridge , there were more fight to do, and hopefully soon she would reach that Sophistos guy to get the information she needed.
And who know, maybe one of the undead masters was around.

91. Revealing a lot of events from the past in the space time relict.

92. This is actually the so far priciest food that can be replicated i know of; so it can be sold for some good money. I already got 20 Luxury Grape Juice; so... millions of FOL is no biggie. I can now stock up everything always to the maximum.

93.-94. On the next boss, in which we had to gather material for some special weapons... there is some strategy adjustment needed else the AI will screw up everything.

95. This is a secret shop on a isle, which is hard to miss because it is part of a guild-mission.

96. Now have to beat 3 of the Ten Wise Men first on the Arena and in Armlock.

97.-98. After the third is down there is a PA in Fun City which will have the Captain become hospitalized and when talking to her several times she will hand out a Ring of Lightspeed. One of many rare Items that can not be replicated.

99. Another Ring can be gotten on the Arena-Group battles.

100. The arena will as well grant a valuable "EXP-formation", which will make level up easier.

101. Cooking contest, very fun... i adore it.

102.-104. After having many of the Ten Wise Men beaten, the last 2... Luficer and Gabriel had to be handled as well... they are way more powerful than the previous ones.

105. Finally... they have been beaten and the Universe is safe...

106. After the Credits there is a "New Game+" Option, which basically is starting the game new with all the items and skills gathered.

107. Or simply load the old now flagged gamesave so the adventure will continue right before the final fight. Now even more missions can be "solved", which will then grant us with Noels best weapon.

108. A new PA with Philia is now available, which will grant us a "Unlimited Gabriel-fight on steroids", one of the hardest bosses in game.

109. In the arena Renas best weapon can be gotten as well, as it is now unlocked.

110. Clouds best weapon, unfortunately... is still locked... so he surely is now in a disadvantage by lacking some power. A second Planeteer could probably be gotten in the Maze of Tribulation, yet this is the super-endgame dungeon and it will not be gotten any quick. However, i am not sure if "Demon Sword Levantine" or "Planeteer" can be considered his best weapon, both weapons are pretty impressive and almost on par.

111. Now we can do back into a "virtual Planet Expel-visit", so we are able to access it at this point.

112.-113. This time our party got the power to defeat "Ultra Aulbear" which was then dropping Dias best weapon, the Hachimentei. Thanks to the stealing-weapon from Chisato we was able to get 2 of them at once. This is very useful because dependable on playstyle either the MP drain or the HP drain is the "best" factor, so if we got 2 weapons with both factors attached... then it will be perfect.

114.-115 Not far from our previous location there is another Raid-Boss, Ultra Phoenix, which was dropping 2 Battle-Suits. Now we can see Dias new weapon "in action" which is always with a critical strike, nonstop... it it extremely powerful and probably... in this setup, the most powerful weapon ingame. Reason is because there is a certain ATK-cap which is 9999 and Dias is already rather close to this cap. The only way to increase the damage-output even more is to use certain specials... such as "the Crit-ability" which is included with this weapon. So, even if the most powerful weapon from Welch "under optimal circumstances" (which is kind of a fail in my eyes) could exceed this ATK-value... it would not be able to permanently run with the Crit-ability, thus in the end it may not exceed the raw damage-output. The defensive is not a matter at all because as long as Dias is leeching MP properly he is basically invincible.

His "normal-attacks" are hitting with values between 16 k and 21 k, which is still not the limit, it is insane.

116. As well pretty close to the old place there was the first Raid-Boss from the new "Ten Wise Men", which was extremely powerful due to his spells. In the end we got him down thanks to the overwhelming power of Dias and another time Chisatos Steal-factor was able to grant us some valuable bonus-items.

117. We found the final dungeon, Maze of Tribulation... yet we felt it was still to soon entering it, there is some other stuff to handle first.

118. The party is "well built" but can still level up way more than that.

119.-121. After doing all arena-fights available Dias and our 2 main-casters are now geared up pretty good, with Dias close to the ATK-limit; while the other party-members still will need some "endgame-buildup".

There is some serious hidden-power inside those gears. At first the weapon from Noel got a 25% chance of attaching a buff, every time he is healing or buffing a party member, that will grant a auto-revive... which, as far as i know is the only buff able to do "such magics". Rena on the other hand can cause some troubles with making the life of other casters harder... in the end, both are pretty powerful "supporter-casters" that are as well able to make some offensive damage, always by using spells. Using this gear they always can move 100% faster which is very useful for avoiding unnecessary damage and finding a place they "can cast in peace".

The armor from Rena "Valkyrie.." is increasing the defense as soon as her HP is going down, and the armor from Noel (which is male only) can prevent any form of instant-death as it will kind of "cap" the maximum damage gotten.

The only purely offensive caster is Celina, but she is still in need of some buildups. Getting her best weapon is as well harder than from the ones who already got it... unless someone is a fish-freak and is using a rope nonstop.

On the bridge of the prison ship Scarlett is now fighting the persian troops that features their best soldiers.
But her abilities with an axe is getting more and more impressive, it seems nothing can stop her anymore.

Thanks to the help of the gondoliers, that appears to be a secret guild in Venice, Scarlett finally find the password required to enter the throne room on the prison ship.

With a nasty surprise she witness the undead master of the persians troops killing the guy she was after.
Damn, will be a pain to get the informations now, fortunately her necromancy power may be able to help there.

But first the undead master, one of the member of the circle she was tasked by Death to destroy.
After using her wits and agility to force the undead master to "accidentally" destroy the pillars supporting the throne room that fall then broke a part of the ship, sinking it, both opponents are then propelled into the land of the dead.

And there Scarlett faced that undead master in his true form.
In the fight against that monster, she prevailled and cut him once and for all with her Moonblade scythe.

There were more work to do as Death himself explained to her after that

122.-123. Some impressions of the dozens of Raid fights that was still taking place, but with the exception of "Ultimate Gabriel", which is the by far hardest Raid-boss i know of all Raid-bosses are now down.

124.-126. Fishing a "Tokuirokakku" which is basically "the king-fish of Planet Expel". This fish is not always at that spot but by moving in and out of Harley he may eventually appear. It is in need of a Master-Rod (a reward from the fish-guy) else not possible to catch it. As well this monster is a connoisseur so only very big fishes as a bait may "do the trick". Once he is on the rope... kind of a earthquake is happening... this is a good sign.

127.-129. Fishing "Father of the Deep Sea" which is "the king-fish of Planet Nede". As well he is not always at this spot but by moving in and out of the nearby City he may eventually appear. Same attributes like the other King-fish is happening here.

130. Now only a single fish is "missing", although, the very last fish can only be fished at the very bottom of the Maze of Tribulation ... so basically in order to get Celinas "Signature-Rod" every single fish have to be catched and the Maze have to be "beaten" up to the very bottom... which is clearly the "hardest attainable Signature-weapon" or lets say the "Ultimate End-game-reward".

131. With a active party of level 116-120 i was now trying to battle the possibly hardest boss ingame in Galaxy-difficulty known as "Ultimate-Gabriel". Now the gear is now in a very good condition but not fully maxed yet... same with the character-levels. So i had in mind i am "trying it out" if i could beat him with this setup...

132.-135. Fighting with Ultimate Gabriel: He is casting his spells nearly instantly with a pace of perhaps 1-3 sec in between. If a melee comes close he is using some weird aura that is hitting the melee several times with nearly the maximum damage possible... almost impossible to survive it unless they have a rare invincibility from a armor-factor enabled, which only will last 5 sec after raising them.

Bloody-gears are disabled on this boss, as he got a "no Bloody-gear-debuff", so this is a very honest battle without any advantage or tricks we could use. However, only Dias and Claude are usually using a Bloody-piece... the other party-members use "normal gears". As well, Dias and Claude are with the same "basic-gears" and are filling the same role, so only one of them will be actively inside the party while the other active members are usually 1-2 support-casters and 1-2 ranged-attackers (Opera, Chisato or Celina got a higher possible range). I usually try to mix it, so every "range" is vulnerable.

In theory Rena could attack but she is almost never used for as she is for certain the purest supporter of any caster, so this is simply her role. As well INT is less important on her than MP-drain as she should never ever run out of mana, while the INT just rarely is a high benefit to her, the few times she is actually casting attack-spells, mainly to fill up the mana-pool.

Noel is the "most balanced" of all casters i would say, as he is the fastest caster possible; with his signature weapon his casting is nearly instant... Although he could make some serious attack-spells if he is not busy supporting, it still does not make so much sense raising INT at the cost of MP-drain because due to his extremely fast casting he will lose a lot of mana quick, so every method of filing up the mana pool is a high use to him.

Celina on the other hand is purely dependable on her damage-output, so any bit of INT, even on the weapon, is surely the highest use. So, if she is in the active party, as long as the support-casters are fine... she should get most of the mana-regeneration-items. As well useful to attach some mana-saving up accessories... as she for sure will need a lot of mana, yet... if she is running out it is never critical to the party, as she is not a supporter... it simply may drop her damage-output in such a case.

My "key to even have a chance at him on my current levels" is that i got two extremely powerful supporters with very good (almost maxed out) gears, which is Rena and Noel... the key to win this battle. My control is almost entirely on Rena (or Noel... if Rena would go down) and then simply have to cast and cast and cast... with a pace that could rival the casting of Ultimate-Gabriel. While in between taking care at the depleting mana-pool of the casters as everything will depend on them. In theory their mana-pool can be filled up completely by just casting an attack-spell on the boss one single time but, because we was permanently busy with keeping the party alive with a non-stop casting-pace that was never too fast... so had to use the problematic item-cooldown in order to fill up the mana in between. There was so many deads... i stopped counting but thanks to the extremely powerful raising-abilities of Rena and Noel Gabriel the super nasty bitch could not wipe the party nor bringing our attackers down.

As well the casters had to take care to run away very fast as soon as the boss was quickly moving into their range, as his aura is usually one-shooting anyone close to it. By using the "narrow escape" ability from a armor in theory the first aura-hit could be survived but he will short time after unleash a second wave and the only way to stay alive is to either move out instantly or by having a heal right after the HP is depleted.

Actually this was just a "test-run" as i originally had in mind to raise the difficulty even higher than Galaxy, yet... as i was able to bring him down i felt it was okay just to "take it as my final fight"... on this run. Those Raid-bosses will be unlocked another time as soon as Unlimited-Gabriel has been beaten (including the very last Arena-levels).

It basically should reset the "Ten Wise Men"-bosses... so i may have a new go on another difficulty.

136. Right after the fight with Gabriel, this is now the party-level... Level 129-136.
We will try to beat "Maze of Tribulation" now, currently in Chaos-Difficulty, so the hardest difficulty possible. I am not sure if a "not maxed out party" is able to execute such a insane difficulty but our gears and "fine-tuning" are clearly supreme. Perhaps i may have to drop the difficulty to Universe at some point but for now we will remain in "Chaos" and lets see how far we will be able to "dive into the Maze".

137.-144. Every party-members equipment "so far"... which is pretty powerful by now. Time played so far is around 57 hours. Dias got 2 different "Hachimentei", one with MP-drain and one with HP-drain, which can be switched out dependable on the situation.

145. Maze of Tribulation "Chaos-difficulty" is in front of us... surely a super hard-challenge. Celina and Claude still are lacking their Signature-weapons, which is buried inside the Maze in front of us.

After completing a few side quests and annihilating a bandit gang in the Inner City, Scarlett finally moved to the Arsenal District.

It is a rather gloomy place with bandits roaming the streets.

Surprised to meet her brother (that was following her secretly since a while) Scarlett got some informations he gathered around. This will be helpful to find her way in this convulated district.

Costing almost 400,000 credits and shown here docking at the Merchant's Guild station in the Abbott system, the Scarab space frame is a major upgrade over the Hammerhead. Although it has one fewer port and starboard broadside cannons, it features many more hard points for advanced weapons, double the cargo holds, and is faster at FTL speeds than the starter vessel.
