Sanc: The interesting setup of Shadowrun is that it takes place in our world (though a bit in the future, like the Blade Runner movie), but our world went through some strange changes (

That's the hilarious part, yet somewhat satirical, yet nodding to conspiracy theorists. It's what you get when you morph a genre into another (or a typical setting to another) and they used to be far apart.
It's often said that "that character is a dragon", speaking about second in command to a somewhat intangible or more vague menace, "chief representative" of your opponents that actually battles you. So, now in Shadowlands, they look human but are *actual* dragons, LOL.
