Just finished O.D.T.

Fun little platformer with very old-school save system of lives/checkpoints/one-time use only save points. Had to replay certain parts numerous times but finishing the game definitely felt satisfying.

especially the woman..... a modern south korean fan service take on western 80's barbarian comic idea's on female armor types ;p

Dragon Chronicles - Black Tears

summary, you pick a team, choose a dungeon, pick a route, answer choices, fight some battles. Every card has some skills, active and passive, which activate either by choice after a certain set timeframe or by round or battle start.

you can upgrade, and try to figure out what the hell is going on in the world

Friend of mine has a copy of the game Retchid, and (very awesomely) allowed me to give it a try :)

(copy pasted from the release thread)

Basic Info
Game starts off about the same as Doom 3, you land in a facility on Titan(albeit AFTER shit has hit the fan) and putter about. The game seems to take some things(like upgradeable suit hardware) from Dead Space/other similar games.

Pros
Has a very nice doom 3 aesthetic
Doesn't require much disc space
You get a gun (low power plasma pistol, infinite ammo) right off the bat....pew pew pew!
Old School secrets and stat list 'achievements'(like breaking drink machines)
Head Popping baddies is fun :-)

Cons
No strafing
Can't skip past cutscenes(couldn't skip the first one anyways)
No anytime saves, but there are save stations (look for ducts/passages to rec rooms)
Only 3 save slots (altho one can overwrite them)
No flashlight(so far, dunno if you get one later)
Some noticed stuttering in the initial cutscene when the ship is landing

Completely missed this. Really looks Doom 3-like. Wishlisted for now.

Quake Enhanced.

The manual said the Nightmare selector was hidden from most people by design, and only those seeking it would be able to find it. I wasn't exactly seeking it, but I couldn't stand something like this being kept a secret from me.

Yeah, it's not too shabby. A few unpolished bits and bobs, but hopefully they'll be taken care of if the devs keep working at it.

No strafing? how is this possible in FPS?

I'm thinking they'll add it in later(it's obvious there's som things that will be added later), and from the bits i've played you don't seem to need it. The only selectable difficulty(until you unlock a harder mode) goes from 'shooting fish in a barrel' to a somewhat decent challenge in the first two maps, and the movement(keyboard keys and mouselook) is fluid enough to look around and aim at enemies when needed.

-

More Pros

Plenty of little side areas and secrets as you go along
(with ammo/armor and also new weapons + suit upgrades)

Not as linear as Doom 3
(a bit closer to classic doom)

They will be adding future secret levels
(found an unfinished level transition area)

Some serviceable non-licensed music
(via boomboxes, found one so far)

More Cons

Graphics aren't as 'crisp' as Doom 3 at ultra/high

A bit of backtracking due to the less linear nature

Finally found time to sample a couple of games i just had installed again.

I have to say, these decade old games still manage to impress! For example with Dragon Age Origin the sound delivery system is so enormous you find yourself looking for the movie theater image quality to go with. Funnily enough you have a reverse situation in Final Fantasy 13. Damn those graphs but uhh sound quality, like yea, no! Both ME2 and NFS the Run seem to go for a lasting impression with their game mechanics though of course it would be a bit understating if you said that ME2 only is a nice game loop.....

Enjoy some pictures

Dragon Age - Finally managed to come out of the character not looking like a 1dimensiona impression of someone i once knew.. under influence

The Cerberus Effect

Krogan Human Stand off

NFS - Whaaaaaa

Undertale. Charming and clever, but some of the fourth-wall wit that comes at the expense of the player I could do without.

Blood Omen: Legacy of Kain. My second attempt at a playthrough, I think I got into the flow of it this time. I love how it looks (PlayStation era aesthetic, wonderful), particularly the lighting. Just wish I could swap weapons/armor without having to go into a menu.
