superstande: Ohh this looks nice, thanks for tip. Suddenly have a craving for some well-made JRPGings, and a big GOG sale is apparently starting in a few days... :)

chevkoch: You are welcome, I can really recommend Xanadu Next (and it's indeed discounted at the moment). I'm still at it, making my way through an optional dungeon that's quite challenging and rewards tinkering with different equipment loadouts. And yeah, I'm also enjoying this thread for discovering titles I haven't heard anything about before.
yea it is nice, to for myself i tend to stick with well known atm but i won't forget this topic brought me star sector. A game i spend a couple of 100 hours with all in all. Such a shame most tend to let this one go. To each their own, of course. Luckily i found some niche youtubers that highlight a lot of titles you would never come in touch with.
Gothic 3. Was planning on skipping it due to it's very bad reputation. Now that I'm playing it, I can say it is indeed mediocre at best, but as the story continues directly where Gothic 2 ends, decided to give it a playthrough after all.

Playing with the original balancing and AI. The GOG version of the game has the community patch built-in, which allows changing up the balancing and enemy AI, but wanted to experience the game as it was originally.

Shadow of the Tomb Raider

I almost changed from headphones to the soundbar. The scary sounds became a bit much... Hissing, growling, unintelligible muttering. Human sounds changed into something not of this world. Sometimes my manhood saves me though, i found myself staring at Lara's ass with all kinds of 'unwelcome thoughts' for a couple of times now. I'm probably approaching a midlife crisis and need a fresh leaf in my life or something, else i don't know what's wrong with me...

Anyways

Scary

ps this game really belongs on GoG! such nice games should really belong here

Warhammer 3

In the category: size does not matter

On the left side we have the royal bride of Khorne. Maybe diminished in size this little bloodcrazed Falcon makes up this with copious amounts of armor and demonic strenght. She once battled a demon lord for three days only to end with the pointy end her sword punched through the darkenend black heart of the demon.

The 2d photograph shows how mistakenly wrong this battle went. Of course i wanted to flank and hit those huge amounts of crossbow carriers with the cavalry who, for that purpose, went hiding into the forest but alas, a scout managed to unravel the lingering treat making for a different game all together.

With the new economic update 2.0 i was curious to see what would happen in the city...

As earlier predicted, we had a death wave concerning the elderly. We lost many many people to horrible circumstance. Though in the aftermath childbirth and migration were booming, raising the inhabitant to well over its previous number. I think this had something to do with the criminal landlord organisations finally dealt with, not to mention, corrupt state officials. With those out of the way, citizens across town stood up in previous unthought ways clearing the way for expansion and improvement. Of course this fact also meant a lot less money flooding towards the city treasury effectively loosing more the half of the income. With a 100k an hour, this amount is still absurd high therefore i'm looking for more ways to support the cities needy be it with social work or a larger choice in workplace. Also, parking spots and public transportation are free for the time being! \o/

There's also been a change with the traffic flow. Suddenly there's been an uplift in traffic jams, which of course will be dealt with after a decent review of the transportation commission. Another change was the amount of workers needed in the commercial sector, i did not check the industrial but i did notice that the business sector went unchanged with many high-risers only asking for 3 to 5 office workers per building. I suspect this will be dealt with after paradox's summer recess.

On a more personal note i again found myself at odd's with the given nature of this particular city simulator. One thing i have a lot of trouble wrapping my head around is the choice for separate day and night cycle as opposed to the ongoing city simulator. Maybe this choice is outlined in one of the many dev diaries explaining how the player should perceive this, for now i just try to reconcile myself with the thought that while the simulator is not what i expect of it, it does try to simulate an environment. Which may or may not be the most important feature. Still rush hour or better said a working inhabitant life cycle is so important when creating a city. Choices in construction and road lay out become so much more blablablablabla

For now i've decided to focus on getting my very needy for walking inhabitants around with more roads for walking, ?

Cities Skylines 2

A couple of sillies discovered while roaming the simulator.

1. Meet Hayden Hamilton, A homeless teen who's been involved in a car accident. Since i can't find his family, i can only conclude that : He was driving by himself. The horror!

2. The accident in question lead me on a trail of people forced to leave the city, by foot. Such a sore sight!

3. Another accident, One thing Colossal has down to the notches is traffic simulation! Seriously, the idiots i encounter on a daily basis doin my work-home routine......... There here!!!

13th in-game day. The world is massive. A little bit too massive for its own good I'd even say. Still only in the first of the 3 main areas and already spent a couple dozen hours in the game. Probably going to take like 200 hours in total to fully explore and finish the game.

Also attached a map of the explored area. Probably still only at like 30% so far.... Hoping the northern region is going to be quicker as it's supposedly mountainous. The southern area is a desert though... can't wait to trek through endless miles of sand as I simply have to explore every inch.

In the end i'm glad i bought Elden Ring, every time there's a souls like hype going on i'll just jump and remember how bad i am.

Still, today i managed a little triumph, about 4,5 hours of play time, 14 levels and i finally managed to defeat that stupid officer carrying a spear. Now to find out what that party is actually doing in those ruins!

Still on Gothic 3, 70 hours in. About to wrap up business in the north (in several hours hopefully). Then, on to the desert, which is the biggest area of the map.

Just a view from up high in Phoning Home.

Edit: Aaaaand that seems to be as far as I'm going to get in this. Crash when entering the portal after scaring off the pterodactyl, check logs, system out of memory. Reduced graphics to minimum and resolution to 640x480, try again, same thing. Thinking that it shouldn't happen if it's a 32-bit program running on a system with 4 GB RAM and nothing else running at the same time, I mean it can't have more memory available, but who knows. Ah well, will probably set it aside.
