Bandits - Phoenix Rising
don't work beyond WinXP - compatibility mode don't work (it never worked in any old game I've tried to run anyway) and no fan patches, had to resort on virtual pc software.
Works like charm which is weird considering the fact that this game was really demanding back then (that's why I've never passed 1st mission, single digit FPS is not a great way to play).
Game is so-so hard, missions are tricky and infamous train escort mission was a cakewalk when you figured out that you don't need to protect the train at all, just run to the last checkpoint asap.

Solving old problems from old games is like nirvana.

Leroux: The testers probably got stuck or bored before they reached that point. Judging from some old documentary I've seen, the people in these positions aren't necessarily good at games or very interested in them.
Actually, they are required to complete the games (although in some cases that may not even be possible) before rating them. I don't know how it is today, but back in the 90s it definitely was like you say with the people working there not being interested in games or good at playing them, so they sometimes had to get some kid to play a game for them, just to tell him afterwards that he is not allowed to play it. XD

At least it was like this in the BPjM (which decides if a game gets banned completely), but I imagine it probably was not too different in the USK.

Field of Glory 2

A massive battle between the Macedonian and Carthaginian army. The approaching chariots and light javelinmen visible on the upper right corner of the picture (yellow banners) represent the reinforcements that are coming to aid the Carthaginian army from my right flank. Therefore, I'm trying to get the fighting on my left flank over with as quickly as possible so that I will be able to end the battle before the Carthaginian reinforcements can even reach my army.

Grabbed Colonization on special. Loving the mechanics in this. It's very similar to civilization, only far more focused. E.g. sending an experienced lumberjack to work a specific tile of a specific town, or sending a wagon to a village where the natives are expert fur trappers, to buy fur to turn into coats at one of your towns.
