System Crash is a CCG that is both offline and has everything included in the base game from the get-go. There are no In-App Purchases and it looks like a fine experience that people who like CCG's will enjoy.

I have added a wish-list item into the games request pages in case anyone would like to vote. You can find out more about the game [and the fact that it already has a potential drm-free release] here:

https://www.gog.com/wishlist/games/system_crash

Thank you for your time reading this and thank you for voting. I would love to see System Crash here.

[I am not the developer, etc. I am just an incredibly interested party.]

Might be wise to include a link to the official site:

oddly: i never put those two things together until you explicitly mentioned them. that is awesome. thanks.

and yup. downloaded the demo to play around with it. i think the demo's a little overtuned [it's a bit tricky to get new cards unless you do some amount of grinding - and the non-starter missions get absurd very quickly unless you keep pace] but i liked what i saw there.

I know, I am not easy to follow..

nah. i mean:

i've seen some of those cards in the demo.

until we got to talking about hackers, i literally didn't make the connection. and then a lightbulb went on over my head. :)

indeed.

think: microprose's magic: the gathering - where it's all single player all the time, [for the most part for that game, anyway] - with little quests you go on and everything. as you complete the quests you earn rewards in the form of different cards to add into your deck - or you can go to the in-game store and spend money you make during quests to buy new cards for use in your deck.

the difference between it and the microprose game is - of course - that it's setting is out and out cyberpunk. like, late 80's early 90's cyberpunk, in fact.

the demo is worth exploring [if you don't mind that the demo is /very/ overtuned and you will get your butt handed to you - so you will have to do some amount of grinding.]

Interesting! So does the game allow the user to save at any time?

the way it seemed to me in the demo - and this may have changed, i'm not sure - but once you're in a "run" [or playing the card game that comprises most of the bulk of the game] it probably won't save your turn-state or your board layout as it is right then. but the minute you exit that, it automatically saves what happened just prior.

so, suppose you won a match against the ai in the tournament and you had two matches prior + this one [for a total of three] and you won 500 credits + another 100 as a bonus and you were at 400. your total would become 1,000 and it would write that to the save game file.

i'll fire up the demo quickly and see if i can save the state of the game while a "run" is in progress, but i don't think that'll work, because i think you have to actually physically concede to save.

result: being in a "match" meant i couldn't save. i had to actually concede to get to a point where i had to save.

alt-f4'ing didn't write anything to the save file either.

so, not "save anywhere while in a match" but "more-or-less save anywhere when outside."

[note! this is my experience with the demo. things may be different in the live/actual game.]
