Hey everyone

I've had a strange problem with Syberia 3 - I've tried to start the game, but I can't get past the loading screen.
I've left it running for 20 minutes, and it still shows the bird\ostrich thing running in the lower right corner.
The game itself just won't start.

Any help as to how to get past this and actually play the game would be much appreciated.

Did you try to change resolutions or quality levels in the launcher?
Thanks for replying Mark.

I tried that, and it doesn't make any difference. The wee bird thingy in bottom right corner still stays there, and won't load the actual game.

It's Marko btw - but no problem ;)
Are you able to launch the main menu or is the infinite loading screen before this?
Sorry Marko

I get to the main menu screen, click on 'New Game'... then the infinite loading screen with bird in the corner appears. An hour later, the bird is still there.
Try this - right click on Syberia3.exe, go to Properties, then Compatibility and check "Disable display scaling for high DPI settings". Click OK, then launch the game normally.

It's all right I just wanted to mention it :)

In steam forums a user that was using Win7 wrote he managed to run it after applying missing windows updates but of course that is not a guarantee. I guess you already tried to reinstall the game? Did you run th egame through Galaxy or usimng an offlione installer and launching it from desktop/menu/lauch file?

Triock, thanks, but I already tried that. ( :

Marko, as far as I know, all my Windows 7 stuff is up to date. Did he say, specifically, what updates fixed the game for him (just so I can double-check)?
I've tried uninstalling and re-installing many times. I don't use galaxy (and I don't intend to), but I've tried downloading the game through the Classic Installers, and also the Downloader links, and trying to launch it from the desktop.

Sorry for the late reply. You did not quote me so I did not receive any notification. Luckily I just stumbled over this again so I can reply now.

Unfortunately no, the guy on steam only said that he did the missing windows updates and that this fixed the issue for him. If you don't even use Galaxy at all we can scratch Galaxy as being th eproblem as well. Do you already use the latest drivers (I guess so but it never hurts to ask)?. You can also try to turn off your Antvirus scanner just for a test. Also I urge you to look at this post and open a ticket directly at the devs. Of course you can and should also contact GOG using the support button in menu. If I shoudl fnd further possibilitys I will post them here.

Now this is really weird!

All my Windows 7 stuff is fine. My drivers are up to date.
I tried re-downloading\uninstalling\reinstalling the game MANY times, and nothing worked.

And today, I tried downloading & reinstalling again, and... IT WORKED!!! ( :

I have no explanation why it worked today, but not all the previous times.

Thanks for your help Marko ( :

Hey, great to hear. I have one simple rule regarding computer problems. If it's working ... just don't as k why. Simply enjoy it :)
So enjoy the game - finally!

Hehe, that's a very good rule! I like that rule! ( :
Dunno if you've played the game, but those snow ostriches in the intro are so amazing! Would dearly love to ride on one.

Yes, I played through the whole game. Imo it takes a bit until you actually starting to enjoy it because it's quite different from Syberia 1 and 2. It also unfortunately has some puzzles which are clearly missing clues, some stuttering bugs and I also experienced a vanishing mouse pointer. But in the end I enjoyed it.

You like the ostriches? I would have thought that you don't want to see them anymore after you had to stare that long on the loading screen watching one of them running ;)
