We invite you to join us as we explore a huge galaxy of games! The Summer Sale on GOG.COM is here to take you on a journey through the stars, with thousands of cosmic deals and fantastic new DRM-free titles to discover!

Playable demos
Bend the space-time continuum at the speed of light and take an early peek at some upcoming games. Be the first to play free demos of the tactical western Desperados III and action-blazing Destroy All Humans! before both games are released. That’s not all, as we also have brand new playable demos for the re-imagined System Shock and the dreamy Spiritfarer, as well as the upcoming role-playing game Vagrus - The Riven Realms, the reverse horror title Carrion, and last but not least, the jRPG-inspired title Cris Tales.

New releases
To make things even more exciting, we bring you two out-of-this-world, DRM-free releases on GOG.COM. Metro Exodus (-50%) will take you on a hazardous journey through the vast post-apocalyptic wilderness while in Prey (-70%) you'll have to quickly adjust to the hunt-or-be-hunted reality of the Talos I space station.

Karterii12: When I go into the game catalogue and select "Under $5" for example, I see DLC alongside full games and there is no way for me to filter it to just displaying actual games. It's annoying and makes the process of browsing the catalogue a little bit more of a headache than it needs to be.

Other than that, this sale's great, thanks again.

emter_pl: I would suggest that you use the "Hide DLCs" filtering option then :)
Now for a tricky one.

How do I hide DLC for games that I do not own that appear in the "Recommended for you" section of the front page.

I'm hardly likely to get them if you aren't recommending the base game...

ciemnogrodzianin: Something is wrong in the mechanism. For 11 bit bundle the prices are reduced after checking 2 games (I own nothing from the list). And checking the third title causes prices to rise again to the previous values (no additional discount).
avatar
emter_pl: We just fixed it and should be working fine in a sec.
Here's another broken one.

In the Australian region/currency add the following Daedalic games.
1954 Alcatraz
Caravan
Deponia

Each game has a price before discount of A$1.19. Each game has a price after discount of A$1.19 for a saving of precisely zero dollars and zero cents.

Has it occurred to you that the obsession with rounding every price up so that it ends with a 9 plays havoc with the "additional 5/10% offers" of bundle prices? I see a difference in USD, which is allowed to have prices that do not end in 9.
I noticed three more, so here's my updated list of noteworthy games:

Dead Age—Turn-based zombie roguelike -80%
Skyhill—Another roguelike -91%
Where the Water Taste like Wine -75%
Distrust—Isometric horror -85%
Rogue Trooper Redux -70%
Gotia—Adventure puzzle -90%
Space Rogue Classic—very old space adventure, hard to judge -65%
Collapsed—slightly roguelike platformer -75%
DeathTrap—RPG/Tower defence -80%
Vampyr—looks fun enough -70%
Alien Rampage—old platformer, looks awesome -60%
Future Unfolding—Top-down exploration adventure -90%
StarCrawlers—Scifi dungeoncrawler with optional permadeath -80%

breegull: I wonder if anything will leave the sale early.
Very good question. I wonder the same. After all, the sale lasts more than two weeks.

Bethesda games will be leaving the sale early on June 10th, 1pm UTC.
While I won't be getting anything at reduced price from this sale, I re-directed the funds I would have spent, to pre-order a game i loved playing on my original XBox.
Destroy All Humans.
One giant step on Mankind is landing soon.

Karterii12: The pricing on the BG games is a bit strange. I know Beamdog jacked up the prices when they got the rights, but even their own rerelease of Neverwinter Nights is priced at half that of either BG game. Just weird is all. Not arguing they're not worth the price, just relatively expensive. No offense meant.

EDIT: Funnily enough, I just remembered that I got a physical copy of a collection including BG1+2 and Icewind Dale 1+2 for 10 dollars.... Around 10 years ago. Strange how old games go UP in price even though supply and demand is not an issue on digital platforms.
That is the case with most games. If there is still a physical version being sold, it will be cheaper than digital in 90% of the cases even though digital it is not limited by supply at all.

I have those editions too, including expansions. These are the ones:
BG

and

ID

One box was like 7 bucks or so. So $15 for all BG and ID games in a boxed, DRM-free release. They are still available, at least in local retail shops.

It is the reason why I still always first check if a physical release of a game is available. You can save a ton of money and have a nice box for your physical library as a bonus. They drop in price much faster than digital releases or are very similarly priced and since not many people are buying them anymore, it is easier than ever to find a great deal.

EDIT:
One example: I could get a boxed release of Darksiders Genesis from a local retail shop for $17.09 right now instead of $24.59 here on GOG or 30€ on Steam.

Ever since I started dating a history buff who is especially interested in Egypt and Israel I have been hoping to see Children of the Nile on sale. Luckily I just had to wait a few months because it's hasn't seen the slightest discount in almost 2 years. The wait ends now. The game is in my library.

The missus will have a very pleasant surprise. Thanks, Gog

KiNgBrAdLeY7: No... No freebies? Like almost all previous sales gave out?
It's just the second day. It would not be the first sale in which GOG kept some surprises until later. Don't give up hope :)

Thanks for the heads-up, I just found a physical package that includes BG + BG2 for $8 brand new on ebay. That's cheaper than just the first game here on GOG. Really proves just how wonderful this digital download revolution really is...

Oh, thank you for this information! Good to know.

Thanks for the info! It would be nice when you also could add that info to the first post in the thread, perhaps just after the "The Summer Sale ends on June 15th, 1 PM UTC.", so that it's better visible for everyone.
when i select three games in - for example - the activision list, there's no discount applied. is this a bug? or is the discount regional? [eg: it applies. but only if your ip is us-based, etc?]
