Just a heads-up that Suikoden Revival Movement is launching a campaign starting on June 3rd to encourage Konami to bring the Suikoden series to Steam and GOG. If any of you social media users would like to participate there's more information here:

I don't have Facebook or Twitter anymore, but I wish them the best of success. Would love to see those two games released on PC. PC versions already exist, as does a fan translation of both, so there shouldn't be a huge problem, at least on a technical level. Legally, in relation to the translation, there might be a few hiccups...
I already got the first 3 on consoles but I would definitely buy them again if they are released here on GOG.
Bumping now that the campaign's started.
LOL Konami. They'll get right on that. They're barely into gaming as it is.
That's why Suikoden I and II were at the top of the wishlist all of a sudden.

Well, even if Konami is persuaded to release them on PC, a GOG release is unlikely as long as Konami and other big Japanese publishers completely ignore GOG and I don't expect Suikoden to be the one to change the trend.

SCPM: ...
Konami don't give a damn about console gamers (unless you consider Pachinko to be "consoles"), even thought it's their main market, so IMHO it's very unlikely they will ever care enough about the PC market to actually port older games on it. Maybe if there is ever an "HD remaster" released on PS4/XBONE but otherwise I wouldn't hold my breath.

I know for sure that there is an official Chinese PC version of Suikoden 2, so in that case it would only be a matter of adding the translations and maybe for that they could use the already existing translations from the console versions (although I'd really, REALLY a new one, the old one is ... uhm... not that good, neither in English nor German).

What? You don't like your ninjas speaking French? :P
I would definitely support this. I love the series. Unfortunately, I think I read somewhere that Konami was abandoning the Console market... I could be wrong though. Anyway, to have all 5 available for PC would be nice.

Don't get your hopes up. It's already difficult to get them on Steam, let alone GOG.

I know, I only said IF they were released here I would buy them a second time.
Just bumping because I'm curious if Konami being here has increased the chances of the Suikoden PC versions (I guess 1 and 2 only) showing up. Maybe there are other legal problems unfortunately.

Suikoden 1 was only released in Japan and Suikoden II was only released in China. If Ys is any example and Konami is serious about reviving Suikoden (maybe after getting jealous of its recently-announced spiritual successor), any possible PC versions will likely be brand-new ports.
Suikoden actually had a PC port in 1998. It's one of those peculiar Japanese Windows ports with Apple II style UI.

Here's a couple of vids showing the thing.
