Old intro moved, I might have to make an expernal Google sheet because I have not claimed more posts under the first one and I have run out of space here. Note that apparently some first person adventures might be on Big Fish in a different "simplified" form, missing puzzles, missing hotspots, missing QTE.
Games that are also on GOG. You could try them on Big Fish as a demo (also demos are available in many cases, not sure if always now) and get the DRM free version here if you wish, or just be content with the Big Fish gift.

I've occasionally seen games in the non-gog giveaway that are HOGs or the like, and imagine they'd be the kind of thing to use the BF codes on. However, the reviews on Steam and elsewhere generally range from bad games to horrible making them seem, at least in my mind, of the same low caliber as itch and indiegala games. However I've yet to play any of the BF games I've claimed, so I'm speaking in ignorance here.

I think there is an option to launch the BigFish games without the launcher.... I'm not sure, but I think I saw it mentioned somewhere.

You can find amazing stuff on itch.io, the problem is to know it exists in that sea of students and amatuers projects. Itch.io problem is the lack of curation, Big Fish problem is the repetitiveness of most of their games. That's why I'm making a list of different kind of games available on Big Fish that are different from the usual Big Fish HOG or very excellent ones. As you see the first part includes games from the GOG catalogue. You can get all of these for free with a coupon if you are interested, otherwise you can just not mind about it.

I think that the option you mean is to automatically close the launcher after the game has been launched. All games have DRM and require the client to install and start.

That sounds about right. That's why I'm glad you made this list!

Dogmaus: Big Fish is known for 2 things:
You forgot overly high prices. ;)

I mean I love their games, but dang....some of their games should be permanently half off at this point.
(20 bucks for a very old CE of some HOG is insane, imo)
I just wish Artifex Mundi would bring the rest of their HOGs here, somehow I just love those games, playing them totally tired after a long day of work and stress with all the hint system on full power, when my concentration fails me playing anything "serious".
@GOG: Bringing them in batches of 10 or so would be fine ;-)
I don't know if it's a good game or not, but Hotel is a point and click game. They also have a free walkthrough available (unlike those hintbooks that they have for some games which cost as much as games).

Right, and as for me, I'm just taking the freebies, included True Fear that is overpriced here as well. ;) on the other hand, they probably have a better customer's care.

That would be nice, but I would like a serious discount.

it's a poorly made game of 2010, good thing is that it has hotsports. It has been remade in 2013 as Brightstone Mysteries: Paranormal Hotel with new better graphics and ported to Switch. It could be enjoyable for some, it has few mixed reviews.

Well freebies ARE nice. :)

That said, I wish more stores sold more of them & gave BigFish's store some more competition, so we could maybe see some better prices for some games.

Would just mention that the Ricochet games are not just "modern looking Breakout-likes", but are the best breakout games ever made. They are the only breakout games better than Arkanoid. Each of them have a huge amount of content, the levels are very diverse and there are interesting power-ups. Well worth it even to buy them.

The sequence of games is Ricochet Lost Worlds ---> Ricochet Lost Worlds: Recharged ---> Ricochet: Infinity. There is no story, though. Each game has a level editor, but Infinity has the most complete / advanced editor, as well as a level downloader (for the other two, you need to manually download user-created levels)
