Not enough time in your schedule to fit everything you'd like to do, yet you still want to be able to find your next favorite game to relax for a while? Today is the day it can finally happen!

Back in October, first users were able to experience the new & improved game catalog on GOG as we've started slowly rolling it out. After testing its performance and gathering feedback, we're ready to unleash it to everyone, starting right now!

We understand that among the more than 5500 titles in the catalog, searching for the game that fits your current needs or discovering the gems that will defy your expectations can be a time-consuming hassle. So thanks to the new catalog you can carry out more customized searches, adding ways to sort and filter games via price range, genres, release date range, and a newly introduced tags system.

The release of the new catalog on GOG doesn't mean we're stopping here. We will be improving it further – yes, sorting by "all-time bestsellers" is coming! And hey, do you have a very specific need, some particular accessibility request, or do you just want to help us help you? Let us know how you like the new catalog in the comments, and share your ideas for what we could bring along.
Too bad it wasn't available for the Winter sale to help me filter games by prices. Fortunately, Ciemnogrodzianin was here to make a list of games in sale by prices !

Also, my 2 cents : Allow to exclude demos from the search and remove them from the library by creating a new "demos" section.
Very nice, this is some great progress! Will the tags system allow us to customize what we see and don't see on the store? If so, this is literally the update I've been asking for!
The search functionality is greatly improved with these updates. I would suggest the following:

Search filter for games with local or online multiplayer, or both

Have 'Platformer' as a genre

Just a very slight issue: Clicking 'Store>Browse all games' shows Fez above 'All games for Mac'. As Fez is no longer available on GOG, I would suggest replacing Fez with another game available for Mac (e.g., Disco Elysium - The Final Cut).

tfishell: This has already been mentioned, but depending on the complexity, maybe you could just add the ability for people to "Hide" games in the catalog similar to hiding a game in one's account
It's not at all complex to implement, a hide function is just a reverse wishlist. It would probably somewhat increase the CPU load on their servers (database sorting and filtering is CPU intensive) but that comes with the territory of hosting a website...

I use to be able to search "turn based" as I only play turn based games.
I can't do that anymore since the store changed.
This is just another step backwards from my perspective

Nice.

One little thing: consider making the scroll bar a little thicker. I think it's just a smidge too difficult to click on as is.

Dark Mode
Oh yes, that's a good suggestion. Games catalogue needs the dark side ehh mode.

The tag system is a very welcome addition. One feature that myself and others that are long time users have been championing for a very long time is the return of lists. This was an incredibly powerful feature of the old GoG days where users could make custom lists for games (ex. 90's FPS Games, Low Poly Goodness, Games With Cool Mods, etc). and they would appear under the associated games.

Back then I discovered so many games that the search system otherwise skimmed over, this could also help any potential issues with the tagging system as others have stated (like how some JRPG's may be missing that tag) but could be compensated by user lists being included in "Awesome JRPG's".

You said it. Those lists where called "Gog-Mix" and I loved them. I had one where I put much time and love in, the theme was "Demos" where I collected weblinks to the concerning game's demos. After some time other users helped me and shared links of game demos or told me of dead links. Good times. I wave and greet to mrkgnao and many others while I'm at it. :)

Feature Enhancement Request:

An alternative list view mode that is called "Compact" that shrinks the game icon to be very small and reduces the vertical height of each game title so you can fit as many of them vertically on the screen as possible, increasing the number of games shown per page as well.

Trooper1270: The built-in zoom function of your web browser would achieve that, by zooming out...

Edit: Just tried it, doesn't work... :(
The suggestion was in response to GOG asking us what features we would like to see them add to the website to improve it further in the future. I appreciate you suggesting a workaround but even if it did fit more on the page it doesn't really solve the problem and you'd have to zoom in for that, then zoom out everywhere else on the site making for greater inconvenience rather than greater convenience.

It would be possible to create a custom TamperMonkey script or custom CSS likely to hack up a homebrew workaround, but the point of posting suggestions to GOG in the thread is that they asked us for ways to suggest things to them that we would like to see them do to further improve things in the future. I'd much rather see them continue to improve the quality of the website than to have to rely on my own or other people's third party scripts perpetually.

It's nice to see them making improvements like this though as it shows they're still alive. :)
These Store search updates are amazing. Thanks so much for adding these, GOG!

Thank you very much for
• Current price range filter.
• Sort by price option.
• More language filters.

Please consider
• "Show only owned" filter. I'm sometimes interested in buying games I liked to give away, and this would be very handy.
• The "In Library" and "Early Access" labels blend in with the tile frame and are easy to overlook. Please give them an icon to the left, like the "Wishlisted" label, and a unique background color.
• "Show with DLCs and extras" is awkwardly worded and made me think it refers to deluxe editions. Take out that "with".
• More genre and tags filters. Those sections look barebones.
• A filter to hide demos would be nice. For now I can filter those out by setting the minimum price to 0.01 -- with the downside of also filtering out free games and DLC.
• The labels in the catalog now say "Early Access" while the store pages still say "In Development". One or the other should be renamed. Personally, I prefer the original terminology.

I hope other areas of the site are being considered for improvement as well
• I'd love to be able to sort the wishlist by current price, and for the price filters to work based on current price as well. I'd also appreciate if any of the other filters actually worked, as they currently filter games seemingly at random.
• Store pages often feature corrupt screenshots and thumbnails, and incorrect or incomplete information in the Game Features box and the description. It would go a long way if someone were to proofread these pages after they go live.
• The store often doesn't mark items as owned. For example, owning Kingdom Come: Deliverance Royal Edition doesn't mark Kingdom Come: Deliverance - Royal DLC Package as owned.

Hide games that don't feature full control rebinding.
Let's be honest here. I didn't read that blurb. I don't play games. I just buy them. I'm what's wrong with the world. KEKW

P.S. I don't even use the Galaxy app. It's too, idk meh. I'm one of the fools who connected all their social game accounts to GOG. KEKW

P.S.S. I don't like it when GOG releases a game that's available on Steam or elsewhere and it's the same game (for the most part, the majority of games are the same with a few exceptions) but it gets a new subtitle to confuse us dumb buying folk into buying it agane but on GOG. And let me tell you I don't fall for it, never. I make sure to do research that it's the same game, just new subtitle. KEKW Good day.
1. "Not interested" list.
2. Hide "not interested" games.
3. Hide games with certain words in title.
4. "Show all DLCs for owned games" function.
