Not enough time in your schedule to fit everything you'd like to do, yet you still want to be able to find your next favorite game to relax for a while? Today is the day it can finally happen!

Back in October, first users were able to experience the new & improved game catalog on GOG as we've started slowly rolling it out. After testing its performance and gathering feedback, we're ready to unleash it to everyone, starting right now!

We understand that among the more than 5500 titles in the catalog, searching for the game that fits your current needs or discovering the gems that will defy your expectations can be a time-consuming hassle. So thanks to the new catalog you can carry out more customized searches, adding ways to sort and filter games via price range, genres, release date range, and a newly introduced tags system.

The release of the new catalog on GOG doesn't mean we're stopping here. We will be improving it further – yes, sorting by "all-time bestsellers" is coming! And hey, do you have a very specific need, some particular accessibility request, or do you just want to help us help you? Let us know how you like the new catalog in the comments, and share your ideas for what we could bring along.

fronzelneekburm: Oh, phew, I finally found one thing I can complain about: Please bring back the Bestselling (All time) sorting option! That one was always highly informative (which I'm afraid might also be the reason why it's gone now).
ITS COMING stay tuned!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! :)

Sort by gog release date would be useful for me. I guess kero42 already covered this.

Also: why are in-dev games called early access now? Is this Steam?

Also: a filter to exclude in-dev and/or upcoming games would be nice.

That is a well written announcement GOG.
Thanks for this and for the new game catalog. :)

* Please add back the icons indicating OS-support; at the very least in list-view. Games with Linux-support out of the box get a lot more attention from me, but I don't want to ignore Windows-only games completely, due to the likelihood of decent Wine support.

* The store -> new releases -> browse all new releases link leads to the new arrivals page sorted by "Bestselling", while it really should lead to a view with newest release first, mirroring the six items from that menu (so probably also with "Show with DLCs" pre-checked.

* Sorting by "Release date (from newest)" does not mirror new release announcements or any other way in which customers experience new releases at all.

* An option to hide all demos would be greatly appreciated.

* Make use of the extra whitespace afforded by the list-view to show genres there?

fronzelneekburm: Better! Much, much better!

Maybe with the exception of not being able to hide the side bar, every single change here is a net positive. Good work!

Breja: "Hide porn and anime".

SLP2000: New catalog is awesome, but I need one thing to be perfectly happy with it.

When I onw superior version of the game, I want basic to be marked as owned.

You can fix this on your side or you could give us an option "mark as owned"
I like all these.
The only feature we're missing now is sorting 'by date addded', which I'm keeping my fingers crossed for.
Looks good. I appreciate the option to hide owned games!
Great additions to the catalog functionality! Keep up the great work GOG team!
Nice, thank you!

Others have already asked for what I'm interested in (like hiding the sidebar, adding these filters to wishlist & library, marking as owned).
I would like to see a filter for visual novels added, as many people who are into VNs like to be able to instantly browse them, and they are a genre of their own as much as "action" and "adventure".
Actually, there are probably other genre tags that could be added as well - point-and-clicks, and JRPGs, for example.

Now, even though I am personally all for lewd games, I think it would be in your best interest to implement a "hide all adult" option (though I think it would work best if this was also an account setting that gets saved). I'm not asking for adult games to be hidden from the store by default, rather that users are given the choice whether they want to see that content or not. The ability to opt out, really.

Also, allowing users to set any game/DLC as hidden from the store would be good. People can then decide for themselves how to use such a feature - whether it's to mark as owned, or to hide that specific title or an entire genre tag.

Must have a VN genre yes!
Great job, finally you can toggle multiple filters to narrow down your interests.

It is literally in the announcement: We will be improving it further – yes, sorting by "all-time bestsellers" is coming!

After all the complaints about the lack of text in the new template, and now people won't read the complete post. If I worked at GOG I would be a bit confused :P
Nice, should have been done quite some time ago.

What I'd also very much like is an extension to the wishlist; the ability to list games not available on the store, so that when they do turn up on the store I can get an immediate notification should they ever become available.

Think of things like Dune II, No One Lives Forever, Wheel of Time (game on the unreal engine), Dreamweb.
