tfishell: Even better, GOG has to shut down because nobody cares about DRM-free in the future and publishers make so little money here. And everyone cries like babies about it. This is my fantasy.
Your final?

Glocon: What happens, indeed, if a game I want is in sale on Steam but not on GOG? I could wait for a GOG sale but most people would, in a such situation, buy the game on Steam.

The result is that GOG looses a sale.
I was wondering the same thing during the recent Steam Eidos sale, a price match policy would be a great idea.

However, it might be a lot more complicated than we think.

Glocon: Ok thanks, I didn't know that.

Navagon: Steam can run sales any time they want. But I don't know if GOG has the same level of control. I don't think they do.

I don't know if GOG can do that, but it would be, in my opinion, a pretty good thing. I don't see any advantage of the actual system, neither for GOG or for us.
Team America = more power than not part of the team, good luck changing that. Supporting GOG and the smaller DRM free groups is certainly a step in the right direction.

But the Steam version comes with additional software (DRM) and therefore should cost more.

Well now he does make a good point here.
Seems like a good time to complain how much I hate Steam. Forcing a 4gb update, that I didn't ask for or want on my single player Xcom, making it unplayable just for checking my account.

Lets not forget Empire Total War which I can't play one of my own games because it downloads the ENTIRE 13gb game.

*Edited to remove tons of swearing. Tons.

True. I didn't think of it that way. Not only does Stream toss in the DRM, but a big client too.

Also because they have to maintain the online authentication and checks what software is install in your computer all the time, give free malware they have to charge more.
