LJChronx: Always wanted to try a Fallout game. Too bad it says they dont run on Windows 8.1. :(
You mean Fallout 3? You can probably make it run on Windows 8.1 with a little work, as I managed to do, too, following this guide. I guess you can skip step 2 by now, in any case, don't use the "Move savgegames" button! So it's mostly a matter of installing Games for Windows Live (although the game doesn't need it) and applying the unofficial patch. I still have to press Alt-Enter each time I start the game to get rid of the window borders in Fullscreen mode, but otherwise it works fine for me on Win 8.1. I think New Vegas worked right out of the box, and Fallout 1 & 2 treated by GOG, too (not sure what versions Steam is offering).

A special one modified by Bethesda to actually run on Windows 8 (though Fallout Tactics can't run fullscreen on Windows 8).
Before the whole thing ends, I thought I should post a compendium of the worthwhile cheapest games on Steam right now.

Just bought 5 games entirely from the profits of selling trading cards.

Yeah, during the sale I only bought two games (Ori and the Blind Forest, Call of Juarez: Bound in Blood), but I got four more for trading cards (The Legend of Korra, How to Survive: Storm Warning Edition, Life is Strange Ep. 1 and Journal). That's about 10 EUR! And it gave me the chance to try out stuff I might have regretted paying actual money for.

But the GOG sale still pwned the Steam sale this year; I don't even want to think about what I spent in it. Now to find the time to play all these games ... :D

Just how many trading cards did you have to get 10 whole bucks?!

I sold about 20, (those from the monster game) and I managed to get around 1 buck.

And yes, the 5 games went for 1.10. Including a soundtrack. :=P

No idea, most of them I just sold on the side whenever I got them during this year, without paying much attention to them, just as an experiment, and I guess there were some good ones among them of 20-40 cents worth? But I'm also slowly nearing the 200 listings limit, and now Steam wants me to give them personal data to prove that I'm no US citizen who falls under IRS laws, if I want to continue selling more stuff this year. Yeah, I made about 10 EUR tax-free Steam Wallet 'money' this year, time to open a Swiss bank account ... :D

I just did that a week ago and is not like they really need confirmation on that information.

I'm a bit wary to provide personal data, I think I didn't really give any to Steam either (although that might be stupid, but I'm paranoid that way, seeing how personal data is constantly abused on the internet and privacy is more and more undermined by governments and companies).

My point was how you could lie about what you post. At least check the form, there wasn't anything really sensitive.

But if that works, what's the point? I thought they were running it through some database to see if that address exists and is connected to my name. Of course, I could just use someone else's RL address but that wouldn't be that nice, would it? And I don't want to get on the IRS' or US secret services' most wanted lists because I raised suspicion by lying, just to make a buck or two off trading cards. (Told you I was paranoid!) :D

Only bought Halo Spartan Assault, didn't had internet acess during the weekend so i probably missed some deals but meh, everything that i wanted was either 33~50% so i can wait for the Autumn sale.

Really disappointed with the Garry's mod only at - 50%, i was going to buy 4 copies for me and friends if it was at -75% like in the past...

That's totally impossible. No one knows who you are, where you live and what do you do online.

BTW, you might want to buy more milk as the one in your fridge expired yesterday, and also, renew your subscription to that magazine to take advantage of the discount. ;-)

You mean to say that all this €30 Steam wallet was left mostly unused?

That sentence actually was more convincing than the first; I haven't had a milk expire in years and I didn't subscribe to any magazines. :D

Each time when that name pops up I wonder what the hell that thing is and why it's so popular. I watched the trailer and somehow I still can't say what kind of game? mod? software? it is and how I should imagine the gameplay. Can you enlighten me?
