So you guys don't want to do me that little favour?

Small fact. You don't need to be logged in to use the controller in "desktop mode". I know this because I have one and I'm not just spouting FUD.

Bye now. Have fun destroying a useful thread.

You telling others not to read messages or threads about the Steam controller?

Hey, I have a better idea. How about if you don't read any messages which are critical about the Steam controller? Do me this favor, ok?

Sorry, but I will keep telling why I think things like a store specific gaming controller is a Bad Idea for PC gaming.

Translation: you don't need to be logged in to use the controller in the gimped mode, and if you don't intend to configure the controller.

Would you personally buy a Steam controller, if you never intended to use Steam? If not, why not? How well does the Steam Controller work with e.g. the Windows Store version of Tomb Raider? Just as well as with the Steam version?

It is not a small fact, it is an irrelevant fact. Hey, if EA ever comes with that EA Origin graphics card, I'm sure it would also work in "desktop mode" without using the Origin client. You just need to use the Origin client to configure your EA graphics card, and to use it effectively with any games, that's all. /sarcasm
