Yes I am really that picky. I can tolerate old games that did not have them like Doom, Quake, Unreal, and to an extent Half Life and F.E.A.R. and Far Cry 1 (PC version)

But a modern game released in 2015? Unacceptable. I have the same beef witth Counter Strike Global Offensive. And they even tease me with only 2 ACOG Scoped rifles that aims down the scope.
is it bad that I don't know what an "iron sight" is? :)

That might help you.

And i don't need those but i wasn't interested in the game in the first place...

Not aiming down iron sights:

Aiming down Iron Sights:

It's a design decision. And a sound one as far as I'm concerned, not every game in existence needs iron sights. It changes the dynamic of combat, slows it down - it's designed for more elaborate and tactical approach as opposed to fast-paced, hip-shooting approach. In other words, it means this Battlefield game will be different from other Battlefield games - that is a good thing.

Implying you cannot make a game like Star Wars a slower tactical shooter.

Repulbic Commando offered us that.

All I implied was that the new Star Wars games might not end up being Battlefield reskin and that I believe that to be a good thing. Never implied what you imply I implied ;-)

"And at this point I'm afraid to ask about it." - you should have used the meme for that :)

I personally don't really mind the no-ironsight feature. This would be one step closer to the old Battlefront (but it has something similar). And this would hold up the myth of crappy Stormtroopers with low accuracy. Now you know why :)
I accept it, never been a huge fan of them anyway.
Besides, I assume they're going for a more cinematic feel instead of the BF gritty war feeling.
previous battlefronts did not have any ironsights
Good. I got sick of that shit long ago. Like the whole "two weapon" system every shooter has to have now, it's there to give the mere illusion of "realism" and "tactical gameplay". In reality, however, it just means that you can't hit the broadside of a barn in normal aiming, but the magic of the iron sights suddenly turns every gun into a sniper rifle.
Crap like that being "standard" just meant that nearly every major shooter of the past eight years or so looked exactly the same.
Star Wars Battlefront doesn't need it. A lot of shooters don't need it. If more developers were to actually realize that, gaming would finally have a bit of variety and excitement again.

Yeah, just scopes on (almost) everything, even shotguns :D
The only game that I've ever played where I really thought iron sights worked was Brothers in Arms. And now I have a craving for that game again :P Granted I've never been much of a Battlefield player, or Battlefront for that matter. Only difference is I'd really like to try out the latter, once I get a better connection.
Neither Stormtroopers nor Rebellion troopers aim down their sights anyway, haha.

EA is long dead for me along with Ubisoft...
