I can't see any achievements in Stacking? Are they not available in GOG version?

I like achievements when they point me towards things I might not find otherwise (i.e not "complete Chapter 1", "Complete level 2 in under 3 minutes" or "Finish 10 levels without dying", but instead stuff like "Find all hidden rooms in the abandoned factory" or "Collect all unique weapons").

Anything like this in Stacking?

Thanks.

Well, Stacking sort of has in-game achievements, not sure if you're referring to that?

They are actually called hi-jinks, and for the most part pretty fun to do, and easy enough as not to be tedious :)
I do not know if there are galaxy-linked achievements (don't use it).

The vast majority of games that support achievements do so only through Steam. As far as I'm aware, achievements in Stacking are a Steamworks feature (complete list). Maybe with GOG Galaxy, more games will have achievements that were previously exclusive to the Steam versions, but as of now, only Witcher 2 and Witcher Adventure Game support Galaxy-powered achievements (and possibly Witcher 3), and even then I think they are not completely implemented yet.
Just started up the game, and I see what ZFR meant now... so Grargar has it right ;)

Still have to say (since I'm not a huge fan of achievements overall), with the hi-jinks, challenges and doll-collecting (sigh), it still felt like a complete experience to me. The steam achievements look like they would all be unlocked anyway if you complete all of the above ;)
So, I don't think you're missing anything gameplay-wise with the Gog version...
Thanks Gragar

Yeah, I don't want achievements for the sake of achievements, but they are a nice way of tracking if you've completed all the extras. If collecting all dolls and doing hi-jinks can be tracked in game anyway, then I don't need the steamworks ones.

While on the subject, there is no save anytime, right? So how will I know when I pass a save point. Up till now (granted I just played a bit less then a minute), I always start from the very beginning when I load.

To the first point: yes, progress is tracked, so you know if you really got "the whole experience" (I'm a bit of a completionator myself ;) ).

To the second: no, there's no manual saving. The game saves progress automatically whenever you do something to advance. You always spawn in the same spot, though IIRC, and always as yourself (no matter which doll you were "wearing"). It never bothered me, but I could imagine this to be annoying if you only play in short bursts...

There seems to be an autosave that is triggered by the actions described in this link.
