People have posted about music, random videos, cats, guessing movies and/or games from screenshots, Promoting Youtube channels, Noah/Spoony, D&D, emulation, G2A, Gamergate, Castro's (or other celebs) Death, and a myriad of other topics that aren't gaming or don't belong.

You have essentially created a thread that is more 'useless' than his because it's about his 'useless' thread, right? So.. Like... Double the useless! Again, I am not saying that as an insult, just an observation, I swear! :D
Anyway, I don't consider his thread useless or bothersome at all. That's just me apparently. I see what you mean by "He's the only one posting in it", but that's not entirely true, lots of people have fun heckling him for posting these articles... And there's even another thread about his thread now, so I'd say he's being pretty successful at spreading whatever it is he wants to spread.
I'd just tell him that it's not particularly smart to get all your info from one website, and then repost all that info from that one website onto this website here. It'd be much more interesting if he compiled a bunch of different news articles so that we could all debate about what is true and what isn't. If you only look at one news source and it turns out to be a corrupted little fountain of misinformation, then bam, all you've ever read from that one source is now worthless.
Did I say "He's the only one posting in it"? I thought I was quite careful not to say that as it seemed to me that that wasn't the case but rather that he was the only person who cared about what he posted.
It really doesn't bother me where he gets his info from or if he wants to post that info on a political website or if people on gog actually appreciate what he is posting, what (mildly) bothers me is it seems that nobody else here actually cares about what he is writing yet he continues to do so. I used to work with a guy like that, he just kept talking and would never leave my office...

I had a really well thought out and logical response to this thread, but it got eaten, so here's this instead. I'd like to think that it more clearly emphasizes my point, as well as cuts it down for a more digestible consideration.

Some of the responses in this thread reminds me of the circlejerking goons who tried to get rid of giveaways in the past.

It's the perfect example of "It takes longer to disprove a lie than it does to make one up", which is the very foundation Infowars itself is built upon. By the time people have gathered the evidence to disprove 10 of your claims, you're ready with your next episode and 100 more outrageous claims, and its accompanying link dump by rt.
I do consider it spam, and I do consider the practice harmful. It defeats the truth by burying it in a mountain of lies.
The same kind of argument is going on in this forum, and evidently the new Community Manager has explicit orders from the higher ups to under no circumstances come to the very obvious conclusion that this sick shit had been against forum guidelines all along.
Remember your school bullies? Remember how your parents told you to "just ignore them and they won't hurt you"? Remember how that strategy turned out? It's a disaster. These conspiracy theories deserve to be confronted with facts, a whole lot of xenophobic attitudes on this forum deserve to be treated as wildly inacceptable and punishable by GOG officials, and far too many goglins have sadly chosen to try and avoid i.e. just live alongside these posts and threads as if they didn't exist, like some kind of background radiation — that will undoubtedly yank the perceived middle or 'balance' of any other discussion on here ever more deeply within the territory of blind hate, demonisation and dehumanisation.
"Just ignore them" was the strategy that brought the GOG forum to where it is now, and budejovice up there is unfortunately rather correct in his assessment. If I were a game developer, one look into the GOG forums would have scared me off establishing any kind of business ties forever.

Suffice to say a bunch of goons began dictating rules. Giveaways had to have rep/join date requirements and all that shit.
Toe the line or get harassed (in this instance for propagating leechers) with the threat of being down-voted to oblivion - look at some of the posts in this thread.
Suffice to say the forum got a tad too PC with all the circlejerking.
The tears, drama and meltdowns when they got a taste of their own medicine was quite the spectacle ^^.
