Sachys: I cannot agree or disagree with you until I know what YOU specifically meant with that phrase.
Hence the request for you to clarify.

RizzoCuoco: *Yawn emoji*

If you haven't figured it out by now...you never will. Not to mention...all those articles reiterating my points: lack of quality in writing, production, and acting; transition to streaming networks with lower quality productions; lack of creativity; catering to the lowest common denominator of people; etc.

So what did I mean with that phrase? The same thing that everyone in the industry or anyone interested in it who uses the term means obviously. I don't write dictionaries and determine what phrases mean. I agree upon the standard terms that everyone else agrees with. smdh That's how language works, buddy.

again...*yawn emoji*
Theodor Adorno, is that you?

RizzoCuoco: Hard pass on a cash grab. No thank you!

I can't follow the trail of logic you are using here and blathering on about.

Older equals better in hollywood...duh.

Hollywood has absolutely gone to hell in recent times. Moranis is a has-been, and again, doesn't sound appealing.

I was only kidding about any sequels(obviously you don't get sarcasm yourself) Sequels ruin everything....and in this case completely pointless. It'll be the same quality as any other Netflix program...boring and trite.

Call that a sarcasm fail on your part, I guess. lmao@you.
My, my...aren't we edgy?
I see you posted a long list of links to other people's opinions...ever had an original thought of your own?

Don't bother answering: that's a rhetorical question.
I know the answer already.

People who tell me how "everything was better in the old days", usually belong in one of two groups:
- the ones, that have forgotten, that shite of all sorts also existed in these glorified "good old days", and
- the ones that never lived during these "good old days".

Now I wonder, which group you're in.
Again: don't bother answering...I have a pretty good idea.

RizzoCuoco: If you can't see the total decline in quality and taste, that's a you problem. Thus, we come to the rise of Netflix and streaming services.
If you seriously consider Netflix an example of good quality moviemaking then I really don't know what to tell you. They intentionally produce worthless "second screen content" slop.

Anyway, I'll remain cautiously optimistic about this. Sure, a lot of these legacy sequels suck hard, but every now and again we get an Ash vs Evil Dead, Fury Road or Top Gun: Maverick. Hell, I know I'm in a minority, but I even enjoyed Dial of Destiny and Genisys. Not great movies, but fun time in the cinema nevertheless, which is all I really want from Spaceballs 2.

Shmacky-McNuts: John Candy is going to make a surprise cameo. Mark my words!
Honestly it would be kind of hilarious if they had a CGI John Hurt only for him to die immediately to a chestburster AGAIN.

All those sequels listed in the teaser basically only say one thing, Spaceballs 2 deserves an honest chance.

I guess the people who are lamenting "recent Hollywood" and "modern times" weren't born, or not yet fully cogent in the last century. You know, back when the Shaft / Herbie / Bad News Bears / Halloween / Jaws / Lethal Weapon / Beverly Hills Cop / Pink Panther / Muppets / Look Who's Talking / Beethoven / Peanuts / Highlander / etc. franchises went into their gazillionth instalment, and of course Rocky, aptly spoofed in Spaceballs - the (original) movie.

We've had some fairly great sequel/reboot stuff this past decade, including a Blade Runner sequel that I consider better than the original, a drop dead brilliant Mad Max, a worthy Bill & Ted movie, and the first successful and enjoyable Dungeons & Dragons movie ever (after no less than three failed attempts).

Spaceballs 2 may still go from suck to blow.

Oh wait, that didn't come out as planned.

RizzoCuoco: Now, a Blazing Saddles sequel....that'll be better.
Blazing Saddles worked because it leaned on racial etc humour (yes I know the humour was designed to make fun of racist people, but this still stirred controversy in its day). It was fairly brave of Mel Brooks back then, and the world was far less politically correct and more tolerant of such topics even being touched upon.

If we do see a Blazing Saddles remake I doubt it'll bear any resemblance of the original except in name only. Audiences are much too over-sensitive about certain topics even being mentioned these days.

Fun fact: Blazing Saddles was already remade, with Mel Brooks' involvement, in 2022 as Paws of Fury, an animated movie about a dog samurai in a village of cats. Yes, really.

Wasnt aware of this. Looks like more of a "freemake" (Yojimbo to a Fistful of Dollars for Instance). Will give it a whirl!

Edit: Yeah a "freemake" but solid. Enjoyed it. Ta!

I groaned upon hearing about this, but then I watched the teaser and at least they're right on the money. Maybe they'll find it.
