vsr: Bioware pays too much attention to this "theme". Not mine cup of tea, i suppose.

GeneralFailer: What a beautiful cop-out out of the argument, I approve. First you claim that gay content is unacceptable to you per se, then that you aren't afraid of gays at all, then "Well, I haven't played it, but I know there's too much attention to this." Don't worry, this country's beliefs hardly harm their income, considering all the non-pirates buy at regional discounts.
Roskomnadzor theoretically might make Origin remove games with gay content any day now (e.g. because they don't check purchaser's age in his passport) and get away with it, so why should EA care about amounts of this content almost exclusively for Russians?
Too much words just to say "I hate you". :D
Yay, I might finally get Dragon Age: Inquisition then :))

If I hated you, I wouldn't bother pointing out where you are wrong or demonstrating crappy conversationalist skills, sweetie. ;)
EDIT: Wrong is probably an inappropriate word though. "Unwarranted self-importance" is a better term. F4LL0UT was saying where you were wrong.

Thank goodness! Those should never have existed in the first place. Now maybe I'll be able to eventually pick up the rest of Mass Effect at a decent price.

I actually bought ME2 and ME3 Digital Deluxe editions after i finished the original ME, started playing ME2 and noticed i was missing certain story parts. Then went out and checked only to find out that the Digital Deluxe edition doesn't include all game dlc which would cost another 45 euros to buy using Bioware Points. So i stopped playing for now and will restart ME2 when they remove the points so i can actually play the whole game.

GeneralFailer: ...
Could you please stop to harass minorities? You white male oppressors should learn to respect every minority - even gamers who don't want to have hip token gays in every single game, because they're screaming "Look, our game is political correct!".

just something to think about regarding "tolerance" ;)
WOW!
I literally have just wanted to buy points to get some of the missing ME DLCs.
I guess I'll wait a little ;)

I want to joke about your use of "stop to" but that's too much work for me now.
I'm not a social justice warrior in the least, but I don't consider homophobia something worth to take big pride in, especially while basically stating that you are not a homophobe.

Totally unrelated, sorta, but I love this word. If you put those together as "perse", you'll get a Finnish slang-ish word for buttocks. Also works as a typical curse word.

u2020bullet: So i just got done talking to EA support about an issue with Crysis and asked them if Bioware points ever go on sale (wanting to buy ME2 DLC but it's way too expensive) they told me they'll be shutting down that program and the DLC will be purchasable directly through Origin.

So just a heads up, don't buy those for now, i'm guessing it'll be way cheaper to just buy the DLC directly instead of going through the point system. :)

PS: Yes, i know i posted this on GOG but i've seen people post about Steam as well and thought you guys should know. :p
I wonder what happens to the points one already owns? They just vanish?

Maybe they'll get converted to local currency. That's how Microsoft did it with their points.

wolfsrain: Ah, yes. Because now i remember: they did shut down the Bioware points program, but only for the new releases (DA:I, probably ME4). The program stays in place for all the older titles (ME2, ME3, DA2).

Typical EA bull.
Sadly, this. I still haven't bought any DA2 DLCs...

Not saying you're a social justice warrior. I just don't like that everyone screams "You're homophobic scum!" as soon as someone says that he doesn't want homosexuality in his video games. Not everyone likes everything. I don't like exaggerated violence and "I wear my sunglasses at night" badasses. I avoid games with "I'm cool because I'm soooooo violent" characters. Am I violencophobic/badassophobic scum now? I hope not.

And especially with BioWare games I can understand why people don't like the tacked on (!) homosexuality. This guy from Mass Effect 3 (the one who's flying the shuttle) was BioWare's first believable gay character (haven't played Dragon Age 2 and 3). Everyone else was just a straight character with optional homosexuality. It's effing annoying, really.

ps. I just said "stop to harass minorities" because most people who don't like homosexuality in games say nothing about it, because they know how this'll end. And that's a perfect example of the whole oppressor/minority scheme ;)

edit - Just to clarify: I thought my choice of words in my first post (especially "you white male oppressors should learn to respect every minority" as answer to an anti-homophobia post) made clear that I was a bit sarcastic...

If they do do this (and reduce the prices), I'll buy all the DA2 and ME3 DLC immediately.

I went through the stupid points farce for ME2, but never again.

BlackMageJ: I went through the stupid points farce for ME2, but never again.
Me too (and I ended up not playing the game because I never felt like I had the complete package yet before my initial enthusiasm ended :P). Frankly to this day I do not understand why they even came up with this bullshit. I mean, how were the points beneficial to anyone? They made things awkward for the consumers and I don't see how BioWare benefitted in any way from them. It almost appears like it was about exploiting a loophole concerning taxes or their deal with EA or something. Whoever came up with the BioWare points should be thrown into a volcano.

Well, that took way longer than it needed to. I'll be right there with a lot of you buying the DLC once its off the points system, then I'll be doing a final, unified playthrough for ME and DA. That's been a goal for a long time, but I hate doing something over to see how DLC could've changed the experience so I've been putting it off.
