So basically your point is, if an original idea was censored for the majority then it doesn't count? It's still a censored version regardless of its magnitude lol. Sure, it was simply changing the names of the drugs, but the technicality remains :)

Then, all final releases of the games might be censored and we might not even know it. I can get your point, though, especially regarding something like Manhunt 2.

To clarify, though, Fallout 3 isn't specifically censored in Australia (like the German and Japanese versions), at least no more censored than the Worldwide versions.

thesmashingone: I also do hope Oblivion gets here as well, however, since we haven't seen an Elder Scrolls game as recently as the other Bethesda releases.
Oblivion in fully DRMfree if i remember right... i dont think i ever used my disk after the initial install.. That said its at the age where i bet we will see it here... with all the DLC, because Horse Armor!

Only issue is the Vampire Cure quest was never fixed in the GOTY edition... But the unoffical patches hit all that with no issue.
Don't see why we would get anything. Not related to FO4 at least :)

0Grapher: Let's hope GOG won't officially sell it in Germany because otherwise we would from then on be getting censored games like the Australians.
There's no way that Bethesda will allow GOG to sell the uncensored version here.
avatar
mechmouse: But unlike Steam, GoG can't force that version on you once installed.
But it can and will force that version on you once bought.

GOG already limit the Australians (and possibly the Middle East) to censored regional versions.

Starkrun: I wouldn't be surprised to see RAGE, Doom3, Quake 4 and Fallout 3 here soon. Doom3 and Quake4 are already DMRfree with the latest patches, RAGE is... well, rather can be as indicated by the files. And Fallout 3 already ditched GFWL and has a DRMfree exe officially created so... there is that :)
avatar
thesmashingone: I was also suspecting that Doom 3 and Quake 4 would come here soon (possibly this month or maybe next?), especially due to how the timing of the Bethesda releases seems like a month-long gap in between (Doom and others for August 28, Quake II and others for October 1). I also do hope Oblivion gets here as well, however, since we haven't seen an Elder Scrolls game as recently as the other Bethesda releases.
Yeah, it would be great to see more Id Software/Bethesda games!

micktiegs_8: Oh yes, it's so censored that I didn't even know it was censored until I accidentally came across it on the internet. Continued to play the game with zero [cares] given.
You can easily tell that the (German) German version is censored but what's more important is that Steam for example only gives you access to a German language version.

Oblivion has a very basic CD check that accepts backup copies but the problem is installing the Shivering Isles add-on because on install there's a Securom CD check.

It sometimes even refused to let me install my bought copy.

Hmmm, I have the disc GOTY edition and I never had a problem. I am using a cd crack but those are a dime a dozen.

You don't have to use a "fix" because only installing the expansion is a problem. The installing part isn't fixed by using one, so there has to be another reason why you never realized that.

Is your fixed *.exe based on one with the latest patch applied? Do mods requiring OBSE work?

If I were you, I'd just insert a back-up copy or try mounting an iso-image.

If they did, I would buy it in a heart-beat (I already own them on PS3, steam and xbox). Will this happen? No, probably not.
We'll probably see more id games, and Elder Scrolls 4, before Fallout 3 ever gets here, if it even does.

GOG still has an opportunity to sell Commander Keen 1-5, Heretic, Hexen, Hexen 2, Doom 3 and Quake 4.
I'd even be happy with Oblivion.
How is it no one has posted this yet? :P

SeduceMePlz: And by 'surprise' I mean of course GOG releases of Fallout 3 and Fallout: New Vegas to coincide with the release of Fallout 4? Have there been any hints from Bethesda or GOG?
Well, it is a fall sale and they did encourage us to check back for more awesomeness (on Tuesday):
Tomorrow is Monday, and Tuesday comes after... wards. So check back for more Big Fall Sale awesome... ness.
So I think it's safe to say we'll be getting zilch.
