After Beyond Earth, I'm a bit cautious. Will be waiting for general opinions before getting. Not too optimistic about it being on ipad either.
This looks decent, but of course it's not gonna be on GOG...
Another steam purchase and a long wait for them to release all DLC.
i-pad advertized beside PC as if its an equal platform?? Yah, its great. Be weary; those never turn out well.
Let's face it, Firaxis's games have been superficial schlock ever since Civ IV.

Which I thought was shite in comparison Civ V. Really enjoyed that one.

Yes, people aree really divided on this question. I despised the unit stacking in older civ, But the scale of Civ 5 doesn't sit well with me. Overall I'd say that I never was hooked by any Civ combat mechanics ; really enjoyed everything else though.

How do you mean by scale?
So is this going to be like Sid Meier's FTL? Or maybe Sid Meier's Space Pirates? The article says it's made by a small staff, so I'd expect something on that scale, roughly.

I sometimes wonder how much Sid Meier is actually working on "Sid Meier's" titles.

And ipad? yeah... I'll take a wait and see approach.

Hey now, I'm sure he made good fertilizer.

He is more of an advisor now. I think he is officially retired but has an office at Firaxis HQ and occasionally when an idea struck him he goes there and "tinker" with it.
It wouldn't surprise me at all if Starships was born this way.

Anyway, I'm not excited about this at all, I would rather hear that Firaxis is working "full steam ahead" on an expansion for Beyond Earth that will enrich the base game greatly like Gods&Kings did for Civ5.

These games have large staffs. Just look through the credits. It's not like when he made games 25 years ago. It's more of a project management role.
hedwards said that, send your letters to him! :P
