I really liked Ultra, which i completed through and through. But people say 2 is very similar to 1, thing's getting repetitive and worst of all? You need to be logged in and have internet connection, in order to play...

Somebody can clarify, please? To get, or not to get?

Nope, the UI of 2 is hideous. It has more features but I just can't get over this fact. There's no fun in unlocking ships either when the ships are procedurally generated.
Thanks for the run down. Heyy, since you mentioned that as well, what is that "procedurally generated ships/bosses", or whatever it's called? How it functions???
Well... considering all the radio stations for the original up and died, I don't see why getting the sequel could hurt.

Something procedureally generated is usually done by taking base assets(graphics/sounds/layouts/etc) and randomozing them(mixing and matching bits and pieces) to make new things....like RPG dungeon layouts in some games, or enemies in others.

From what I know it takes songs and creates ships with them. Just like the waves and bosses are generated. Technically different, how much so would depend on the game.
