Seriously, this is actually pretty ridiculous. Every time I'm clicking the pay-button, the client redirects me to my library and nothing happens there. Anybody know how to fix this?

Sale is going to expire in roughly 6 hours and I can't buy the game I wanted to. I know the client is still beta but honestly, I doubt all customers are going to have patience and bear with GOG if they have a similarly shitty first time experience in the shop.
Have you tried using the site instead of the client?
You can use the website, too. Bought there just a minute ago without a problem ;)
I think buying through Galaxy doesn't work for me either, but you can always use the web-page.
Okay, thx guys. Will give it a try. Pretty stupid to not implement a shop that's actually functioning, though.

That's just part of the many Galaxy beta 'features'. :P

It's a beta version, so some functions aren't implemented yet. And this particular functionality really needs to work flawlessly, otherwise people will use weaknesses of the beta version to get credit card information.

I'm running a successful internet business myself and I'd never dare even considering to release a client with a shop that isn't functioning flawlessly. I'd rather hold it back until it's ready rather than offering something that isn't working correctly. A shop that is in the client, but doesn't work is the best way to piss off any potential customers because it provides an extremely negative first impression. Many people in my shoes would have told GOG to go screw themself and purchased the games on Steam, rather than dealing with a non-functional shop and a buggy client that's severely lacking in terms of clarity.

I understand this is still beta and all but I doubt average customer Joe will have the patience and will tolook for a solution on his own when the GOG client's shop isn't working. Horrible first impression, tbh. This is the very first company I've ever seen that doesn't give a damn about a functioning shop. Kinda incomprehensible...

Works via website. It boggles my mind why they don't just prompt to continue the purchase via browser instead of remaining in the buggy client. Even I could code that...

It took them few years to allow games with periods or other special characters (e.g. Q.U.B.E.) to be searched. I know 8th grade students who could code that.

This is GOG.

I really love them, but sometimes I honestly can't see why some bugs are not fixed quickly (and I do know sometimes fixing somthing is not as easy as it seems).

Unfortunately, they won't be here to stay, then. At least not with gargantuan competitors such as Steam right around the corner.

A shame really.

They will and already did for quite a long time, always growing, because they offer other things, Steam doesnt and the people working here identify themselves more with the company than in any other.
And the small flaws every now and then arent really that problematic.
I can't get the website shop to accept my card. I've never had a problem before, but now I just keep getting a transaction error. I sent a message to support, but the deals are going to expire before they get back to me.

I wouldn't consider a shop that isn't working at all a "small flaw".

I've switched from buying games on Steam to GOG only in the last 6 months whenever possible (if the games are here). I'd say if anything, GOG will get more customers over the next year, not less.

The Galaxy idea is crucial to their success IMO, but I think it should be given time to function fully. It's no great problem to buy from the main site in the meantime.

It's called "Wallet Protect" and an essential feature during sales time...
