Me, in answer to you question.

I don't have any need for space, my life is very much centered around my computer and outside. As long as there's still an outside I'd be very happy with my own little cube. In fact I'd be much happier than having to share a house with 2 people as I currently do.

There is this movie P.S. I Love You. It's a good movie, but there is this one scene that will stay in mind forever. This chick is complaining about how she lives in a small apartment and asking when will she and her man move out into a bigger one. Now, I bet to great majority of peeps living "across the pond" this scene looks entirely normal, because they have never seen a studio apartment and in what tight spaces some people live. I and everybody who watched that scene with me LOLed real hard as for our country standards that "small apartment" was a luxury palace.
I also find it incredibly funny how Yanks have kitchens big as a house and never cook. I guess in "land of the plenty" it's not important if you need anything as long as it's big.

As for the topic itself, I kind of agree with wpegg, but it probably would require some time to get used to it, as I have lived my entire life in a house.

Hmmm i'd honestly live in one of those, although i couldn't have my big beefy computer rig... Actually if you drop half the plumbing you can live more minimalistic than that.

There's a video on how to make a livable space out of cardboard boxes... i think in raw materials it was $300, and he ended up redoing the door since he did a bad job and got water damage, but beyond that it was very livable...


edit: As a note, there are many apartments in New York are 80 square feet or less, so having a 10x10 isn't really unlivable. Quite a lot of it's about choosing what you own and how you store it.

Actually since the topic is basically about Tiny Houses... Or if you do bushcraft, you can live in tents.

Honestly most people in the USA can use to cut back and live more within our means or less; Corporations and banks would hate you because you aren't buying nearly as often or as much as they think you should though...

if the laternative is the street i will gladly live in one of those cubes

Indeed, my point was that I'd actually "like" to live in such a place. It appeals to me. The only issue would be storage of a few things. To be honest though I'd be prepared to bin my DVD collection on the basis I'd paid for them once and could therefore rip them. Apart from that I'd be me in my own little enclosed zone, everyone else could just fuck off. It would be nice.

personally i feel that any house that is affordable and doesnt have any serious defects is a good house
its better then on the streets certainly in this weather
