Hi, and yeah, I'm pissed !!

Twice I bought games from you, games I could easily have on abandonware sites, but I told myself "heck, at least with GOG I'll have them anywhere, anytime".

And each time, the ONLY TWO times I bought from you, the NEXT day, all the freaking games I bought go on sale at -75% !! Seriously this is pure fraud and rip off !!!

I know I'm just screwed and you won't do anything for me, but I'll never buy from you again, period. Making business out of mostly abandonware stuff is one thing, I can understand as like I said it's handy to have them easily anywhere. But THIS kind of stuff, putting sales on games right after people buy them, is seriously spitting in the face of your customer.

I believed in this service but I'm heavily disapointed. I know this won't make anything move forward in the customers direction, but I least I said it.

Enjoy the last money you get from me.

Ummmm you know abandanware is not a legal term right.... basically if its on gog its not abandanware. So basically you are saying screw you gog for making me pay for games, Im going to go pirate games instead.... I don't understand your logic here but have fun on your way out, and please don't come back.
Never buy anything unless it's on sale for 50% off or more, problem solved.

ALL games can be found for free somewhere else. If you're willing to go the illegal way, your choice (and if a so-called "abandonware" game has a rightholder that sells it, here on GOG for example,, getting it somewhere for free is just piracy).
Also, thousands of people buy games on here everyday. If none of those games were allowed to be on sale the next day, we would never have any sales.
And last but not least, if you haven't downloaded the game you bought yesterday, you can just give it back and get your money back.
Cheers.

Or avoid buying games the day before their weekly sales.

Seriously, buying games on the weekend ensures that the OP would have at least 5 days before they could go on sale.

But you don't understand! He bought two (that's: 2) games and they're on sale the next day!!! Ripoff of the century!

You're completely missing the point of my complain. Did I said I'll download stuff elsewhere ? No. Did I said abandonware is a thing and ot's legal ? No. I used the term to qualify any old game, not a market.
Hah, I think you are overreacting a bit too much. Its obvious you have enough money if you can buy games outside sales. Just be more patient and you can buy games in sales sometime later. Eitherway as others said if you haven't downloaded the game already you can give it back and get a refund.

Umm...
1: its not abandonware as GOG has to aquire a licence to sell it meaning someone still owns the rights - therefore its not abandoned.
2: Kinda arrogant to presume GOG has some beef with you and is putting games on sale the day after you bought them because GOG hates you. Of course, with your attitude I'd do the same.

Yeah I learn my lesson for sure. But like I said, it just had to get out.

Looking at your registration date, I'd say you've been here long enough to know that GOG holds a scheduled Weekend Promo that runs from Friday afternoon to Tuesday early morning, and a scheduled Weekly Staff Picks sale that runs from Monday afternoon till Thursday afternoon. If you don't like to purchase titles at full price, what is stopping you from waiting to check these two scheduled events?

Crying fraud and rip off is uncalled for, to say the least.

Sounds unlucky and perhaps frustrating, oniryck.

It certainly doesn't qualify as fraud, though.

Any thoughts on how gog might handle this differently? Should gog backdate sales and refund the difference for recent purchases? There will always be someone who "just missed" the better price, though. Should gog stop selling a game for some buffer period just before a sale? Should gog not have sales?

Are you certain your complaint is reasonable?
