Right now, Sega's giving away 3 games on Steam: Jet Set Radio, Golden Axe (the Genesis port), and Hell Yeah (which is a really cool 2D actioner.)

This is... obviously a good deal. And apparently, Binary Domain is going to be free in a couple days.

Also worth asking: If Sega's giving away this shit for free, how on earth can GOG not get any of them on the store? DRM stance obviously isn't an issue, at least in the case of these games.

Region locks.

Again, when you're giving away games for free, I seriously doubt that's a concern.
Where did you read about Binary Domain? That game is been sitting on the wishlist/backlog for a while, it would be cool to grab it since I've missed it the last sale.

Golden Axe and Jet Set Radio are cool, going to see if I like the rabbit one too. :)

Also, thanks for the heads up +1.

Are they being given for free forever? No, so my point still stands. Sega and other Japanese companies want region locks. Sure, GOG does have a small number of games currently regionally-locked, but if they decide to say yes to the Japanese companies, all the games offered by Square-Enix now (all 29) will become regionally-locked in Japan. Japanese GOG customers will be very pleased with that. /s

What about the gameplay though?
Ooh, nice! None of them are really interesting to me, but it's always nice to see free games :)
Thanks!

If they're giving it away for free, even if it's for a limited period, that suggests that they're not particularly fussed with any restrictions. They've made their money, and they've loosened the reins.

And if GOG did allow Sega to release their games here, albeit region locked... who cares? Japanese PC gamers are no worse off than they already were with Steam's approach, except that now they have the option of - worst case scenario - using a VPN to buy a DRM-free copy of the game.

Not helping snowkatt, I need a more constructive criticism, other than "I didn't like it". :P

Just kidding, I'll give it a try later.

Oh, i thought this was only for those that were playing the games involved in the event, that's cool. Hope that they add Condemned in the following prizes...
