Seems like fun enough and I might even join, but I would have a hard time to come up with a GOG game I hate. Most of the games I hate are online only and therefore not on GOG: mobas, MMOs, and online shooters. Like Unreal tournament, but I already own it for some reason. Maybe 4x games without a storyline, as I never get motivated to play them? I utterly loathe footbal, but I already own VR soccer... wait, there are even more soccer games on GOG now? Since when?

Ok, not in. Because while it appears there are indeed some games that do make unhappy, I really don't want them on my account. No amount of guilt trip will make me play them. And asking for any other game would go against the rules, so pass.

That's not even funny. I'd seriously have to kill whoever did that!

Since when is doom an online shooter? I do enjoy single player shooters, after all. But I do play for the story first on almost any genre, so I admit doom is not high on my backlog. I do own it already despite that, because I'm an idiot.

Honestly, between me playing many genres and having bought a ton of games here over the years, I would indeed be a challenge. I don't recommend me.

But, if anyone here puts DX on their shitlist, his ass is mine. Mark my words.

oh lol, oops. i just read "shooters". :)
Awesome idea, CarrionCrow. +lots.

I guess I'll go first.

Here is my list and I expect people to have clever comments about at least a couple:

Elaboration:
- Two games who appear to have only very limited player interaction
- Two games whose primary premise is the promise of erotic or pornographic content
- One game who seems to be nothing more than an exercise in brand name dangling, and a brand I don't particularly care about to boot

Yeah, I meant Team fortress, counter strike and the like. COD too, even if it technically does have a single player campaign.

But hey, stuff like the 4 barreled shotgoun on the new Shadow Warrior is just too awesome, what is there not to like?
The most evil thing would be gifting acclaimed games that the participant actually have on their wishlist, unaware of the pain, frustration and rage they will cause eventually, when they players have already fallen in love with them and don't have the heart to give up on 'em anymore (e.g. Psychonauts anyone? Super Meat Boy? Gabriel Knight 2?). Bwahahaha! >:D

Very true. There's plenty of pain to be found in games many people consider to be good.

If you mean the rage of having good games and no time to play them, you're waaay too late

Nah, I mean the feeling of wanting to love something even though it keeps on hurting you! ;)

And the tragedy of wasted potential, that too.

I've always learned the hard way what games don't work for me, a lot of the games I really like the concept of, but after a few levels/sessions the mechanics start to grate against the senses and then blargh, back into the library of purgatory while I recover.

RPG's seem to be the worst, even though I am enthralled by baldur's gate, and its kin I cannot for the life of me force myself through any game in that style. rogue likes are usually even worse. Not platform games though, I love those. and barring games that have genuinely poor design will play any of them.

If this actually goes through I suggest all participants get together on skype or something and do a let's play, that way we have concrete proof of suffering.

If there one thing I'm glad about, it's that I already own Psychonauts. That way no one can gift it to me. Nasty little game.

Ah, you meant Deus Ex 2.

Crewdroog: for me it is more genre, like turn-based and strategy. there are so many games i'd love to try, but i see the "turn based" and go no, screw that.

Also, i'm a masochistic crazy person :)
Good, an opening. the turn based game you have to suffer is Divinity Original Sin.

It is such a sought after game by so many people.
It is highly recommended by so many people
And such an expensive game too.
And it has hundreds of hours of playability.

Let the thing in your chat screw you up.
