ScouseMouse180: Yeah I quite like the fact that all 3 Dark Souls games have fairly big noticable differences, and all 3 of them are great in different ways. Yeah the bonfire right next to Fume Knight definitely made it a little less painful... they weren't so kind with the run to the Blue Smelter Demon!

I'll have to have a look and see if Demon Souls is available on the Sony store, I've heard people say they think it's the hardest of them all, would you go along with that? Ahh yeah I've been recommended Nioh once I finish with Dark Souls, I wanna give that a go, but Bloodborne is up first

CharlesGrey: If some of that sounds negative, let me add that I still think it's a great game, and absolutely worth playing for anyone who got hooked on this remarkable series. Demon's Souls has the most original ( sometimes weird ) soundtrack of the series, almost every boss fight is unique in some way, and it has some rather iconic characters such as the Maiden in Black, or the first appearance of "Patches". And there's just something about the atmosphere of the game... It's the shortest of the series, too, but that makes it well suited for multiple playthroughs.
Man you really know your stuff when it comes to Souls!!! That was one of the things I'd heard about why Demon Souls was particularly tough, because they pretty much didn't have bonfires.

That's one of the things I love so far bout DS3 btw, the boss fights feel a lot more unique, there's plenty of variety. Whereas with DS2 I felt like there was A LOT of just 'big guy with a a big weapon'

I never understood it either. Despite having done FFX a million times, I think i've only ever actually won it once (and that was shear luck, and yes i've never done 100%)

Yeah the fact the early match was SO hard to win (and really seemed to drag on) made me totally not wanna try it as the optional mini game at all.

Dark Souls 3 time and oh boy I've got a big worm to show you!!

Ever since I played Demon's Souls for the first time many years ago, the "Souls" series quickly turned into an all time favorite of mine, so I guess I do know a thing or two about it. These days I rarely have the time and motivation to finish big AAA games, but I spent a lot of time on each Souls game I played, usually finishing them more than once.

If you get to play Demon's Souls somehow, you'll probably find most of the boss fights and the general gameplay much easier when compared to Dark Souls 3 or Bloodborne. But like Dark Souls 1, Demon's Souls has great potential for frustration. I really wouldn't recommend it to newcomers to the series, but you shouldn't have too much trouble after you've already played through the other Souls games. ( Although it might feel like playing in slow-motion, after DS3's and Bloodborne's combat pacing. )

Yeah, DS2 has some memorable boss fights too, but there are lots of "generic" humanoid boss opponents. Demon's Souls only has a handful of those, most of the others are rather creative creature designs, and most of them have some special boss fight mechanic, so the standard "stay close and circle to their back" strategy won't do any good.

Sega Saturn wasn't a bad name. Or the Jaguar. I guess Sega Dreamcast was all right, too. Or the working title for the Nintendo Gamecube "Dolphin".

On the other hand, Microsoft has gone full retard with their console names. Xbox was OK-ish. Xbox 360 was... weird. Then they named the third Xbox "Xbox One". WTF? And then they had a decent name with their "Project Scorpio", but instead decided to name it "Xbox One X" ... Because you can't have too many "X" in your product name, I guess?

Either their marketing team is suffering from brain damage, or their intended target audience...
